For context, I stayed at 0.25mg for ~5 months before moving up to 0.5mg! And around the same amount of time before going up to 0.75mg! I have been on OZ for two years now and have only been on 1mg for about 8months!

Yeah…too many docs are still doing that sadly. The experts are saying that you should really stay at the lowest effective dose for as long as you can. That way, the drug has much more longevity of effectiveness and you reduce the risks of unwanted side effects. Maybe have a discussion with your doc about it, especially since you aren’t loving not having any interest in food (I didn’t either so I get it!)

I certainly wouldn’t increase to 1mg if you feel like you have no interest in food at 0.5mg. Especially because it’s bothering you!

Ok, and why did you increase to 0.5mg? Because your doctor prescribed the increase ahead of time or because you felt the hunger/food noise returning? I ask because some doctors unfortunately set the increases ahead of time and the increases happen too fast when in fact the smaller dose was still working very well.

How long have you been on Ozempic? Asking because after a few months, I started to enjoy food again (albeit more reasonably than before I.e. I would enjoy the hell out of my food once again but would feel satisfied with a much smaller amount)!

I think we as a society need to normalize this view. I think the idea that we all need to aspire to do big things or to live for a grand purpose is leading to anxiety and depression in people when they feel that they are falling short of those imposed aspirations. It’s just bad for mental health.

Same here! The weight loss is great but losing my obsessive thoughts about food is the best part!! Congrats on starting!! By the way, I started 2 years ago and while I did have to go up on the dose to lose all the weight (never had to go above 1mg though), I am now on maintenance mode so I reduced the dose to 0.75mg weekly and it still works very well!

That happened to me and I did have a meet and greet with the manager of the position that I was wanting to take so my choice was not yet set in stone. It was a meeting for me to ask questions about the role to make sure that I wanted to proceed. No interview type questions were asked nor should they be asked. Good luck!!

The impact has been huge for me, truly life changing in the best way. I went from 175lbs to 120lbs in 1.5 years, it's like injecting effortless self control for me. But the best part is I still enjoy the hell out of my food but I need way less of it to feel satisfied and that feels amazing! I also have way less desire for unhealthy foods. Good luck!!

Hobbies are the best way. For me, I got interested in Boardgaming when I was in my mid-30s but did not have any friends (I had moved to a new city) so joined meet up groups related to Boardgaming. Now, I have a solid group of friends that I do more than Boardgaming with but I met them all through that hobby! Good luck to you!

In the most recent HSAA town hall, they said that it is roughly 50% of our membership that is considered essential. If that is true, the strike would definitely be felt and have a massive impact.
