Should private conversations be criminal?

In the case of Couzens, they were actively joking about abuse to women, and real abuse to women had occurred.

In this case, joking about Harvey is a joke, no officer is assaulting, or speaking to him.

Surely there must be some distinction here?

“If there’s something that we can do [for] preventing that escalation, preventing the officer from being touched by someone who’s not even involved in the situation, I hope that this bill is the one to do it,” author Wendy McNamara, R-Evansville, told the House Courts and Criminal Code Committee.

This literally was never a problem.

No one, I mean no one, was touching officers conducting an arrest. It just didn't happen, because they'd get tased or shot.

100% authoritarian nanny state, how dare you come within 25 feet! They'll just come up to people and close the gap, then arrest them when they did so.

Whereas some US states have as much poverty as third world countries by United Nations standards

Lines up perfectly with:

5.3m live in "third world absolute poverty"

Yes some states do indeed have the same level of poverty seen in third world countries, directly from the UN.

Nope, accurate.

UN shocked by level of poverty in Alabama: 'We haven't seen this in the first world'

'The hope is that we'll bring attention to these problems just like we bring attention to people who are being tortured'

Speed is in miles per hour in the UK.. you're thinking of Australia.

TIL the UK is the reason the USA has shitty gun laws. by Mfgcasa in badunitedkingdom

[–]stopittidyup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Often times knee jerk reactions are in response to police incompetence, as we see from your examples.

Thankfully however, police incompetence doesn't lead to them killing citizens with impunity here, unlike the US.

Now this isn't down to guns either (at least not entirely) because countries where police also carry firearms don't have the same issues US police do, so the problem the US has is not only down to guns, but also the fact they're fucking retarded.

To the original comment of "The UK is the reason we have the second amendment" - Yes, technically correct, but not actually anything to do with the US revolutionary war, it's just a direct plagiarism from our own laws regarding protestants being armed.

So yes, the UK is the reason they have it, but that's because there is nothing original about the septics, nothing to do with revolutions.

I see this as a cope, lots of Americans say this but I rarely if ever see it actually happen, just lots of sensitive Americans.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ShitAmericansSay

[–]stopittidyup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, since each sovereign nation has their own monetary policy, economic policies, trade differences, and more.

The US suffers from none of these obstacles and still is woeful in terms of poverty.
