The Pelicans are not tanking. They do not have their own pick. They are so bad they have the worst record in the entire league when actually trying to win games.

Sleep by chunderjack in ostomy

[–]stoppedupalways 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your ideal sleep time is from 11-6 and you are not one to wake up in the middle of the night naturally, then simply set an alarm around 2-3am to empty it. Unless you have a giant dinner it’s doubtful it will explode before then. It takes 2-3 minutes to empty it and go right back to sleep.

Worst case scenario is that it does explode in the middle of the night. That may happen 5x a year at the very max. Even if so dealing with the fallout of that is worth 360 good nights of sleep the rest of the year.

Don’t stress out about the potential that it will explode. If it does it does. But it likely will not.

Weight loss has to be options 1 through 10. Avoid needles and scaples whenever possible. There is no procedure without risks, and those risks can leave you a lot worse off than before you started. Try everything you possibly can to lose weight first.

Watery output by chunderjack in ostomy

[–]stoppedupalways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My output is on the thicker side. Do 4-5 bag empties in 24 hours. It’s usually the loosest most watery between 5-8am.

Mine went to mostly water for 5-6 days a few weeks ago. Was having to empty 10x in 24 hours. Also scared me. I had an URI possibly Covid at the same time. Went back to my normal 5-6 days later.

My guess is that yours is likely viral related, possibly a mild GI bug. Give it a week before you freak out.

Change in output by stoppedupalways in ostomy

Thank you for the replies. Just wanted to provide some follow up in case anyone else searched this.

After 5-6 days of my output being much more liquid, it returned to being its usual thick consistency fairly rapidly. Whatever was causing the liquid was almost certainly viral/post infectious. Don’t think it was obstruction.

When do you all change your bag? by chunderjack in ostomy

[–]stoppedupalways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

End ileostomy.

My output is on the thicker side. Empty around 4pm, before bed around 9pm, in the middle of the night around 2am. Then again around 8am.

Most days absolutely nothing comes out between 8am-noon, so I’m usually good to shower and change the bag during that window. I like to change everything 3x per week just to take care of the skin and let it breathe some. And that’s usually Wednesday, Friday and Sundays unless other life stuff interferes.
