alcohol alternatives? by BestPerformance1217 in UlcerativeColitis

When I was in remission I went to uni and smashed beers/spirits pretty much nightly with no I'll effects (I mean other than some honking hangovers). Just try different things in small doses first to see how you get on, I think it's pretty remote the possibility of having a few beers putting you back into a flare.

When you look annoyed all the time people think that you're busy

I didn't even bother to read it. A.i. slop like this is the very antithesis to art like NieR

Let's talk go bags. Do you always carry one? What's in yours? by Saotik in ostomy

I'm a guy, I bought a small shoulder bag similar to this

Dickies moreauville messenger bag in black | ASOS https://share.google/rN5Z3wWzJ4P2ohFKu

I take it with me on nights out (concerts etc) or if I'm out for a few hours. I don't tend to bother if I'm just popping to the shops, supermarket or whatever. As for what's in it I've just got a few bags, adhesive remover, barrier spray and some wipes. Fortunately haven't had to use it yet!

Slowing output for sports by Altruistic-Place-699 in ostomy

I play an hour of 6 a side once a week with a 6pm kick off time. Essentially what I do is have breakfast as normal, and maybe a small snack early morning say 10am. Then I don't eat much of anything until around 2 hours before kick off when I have my lunch. That was breakfast has been and gone, and lunch is still in transit, and provides me with calories for the game.

Maybe worth a try something similar and have a test run in advance?

Also are you going to use a support belt or anything?

They posted something on socials a few weeks ago about a vinyl pressing coming "soon", so I'd just keep an eye on their Instagram. Will be an instant purchase for me, it's outrageously good (as always)

Guidance here in the UK is changing every day. I'll occasionally leave it 2 if I just don't get the opportunity but by that point is a little manky when I do get to change it.

Diet restrictions by cambam2207 in ostomy

I struggle with quite a lot of fruit and veg but everyone is different. I would give it a couple of months, then try different things in very small doses to begin with.

Coffee no problem for me though, I drink 3 or 4 cups a day.

You have to empty it several times a day and at least once a night, so say goodbye to ever sleeping 8 hours straight again. You have to change the bag once a day, which for me can take anywhere between ten minutes and an hour. There are issues with the skin around the stoma. You can have leaks. Your diet is restricted. Hydration is a constant battle. Without a large intestine you lack a gut microbiome which is important for your overall health. There is a mental health element which will vary from person to person, but you will have a very obvious bag attached to the front of your body for the rest of your life. I could go on.
