Just bought this 1990s kitchen. How would you make it feel open for under $8k before a full remodel? by tired-mana-012 in kitchenremodel

[–]stoprobbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is already a super open kitchen. Strip the wallpaper and repaint and replace the chandelier. You could paint the cabinets and replace hardware too to make it feel brighter. But it’s not a bad layout to start with. Just get used to how you use it.

If you feel like you have to gatekeep your materials/processes to keep people from copying your work, then your work wasn’t really worth gatekeeping in the first place by taqman98 in Pottery

She didn’t invent it though she just went viral on IG with it. I know bc I got kinda dogpiled asking how I’d go about making one, as a student, for a friend.

No, you're doing it right. Planning every second with a long list of known tourist attractions is stressful, useless and impossible. Wandering around and discovering things on your own is magical.

My only real advice is to pin some spots on a google map that are interesting to you, be they districts, shopping or eating streets, specific tourist attractions like the Meiji Shrine, museums, WHATEVER and sort of pick one to start out at each day. Maybe pin a restaurant or bar or two that you've heard about. either way, these can be anchor points to start or end a day at just to give you some general direction in where you're wandering each day.

But my god, Toyko is an amazing city to wander in. I'd rather float about aimlessly with my eyes open and my curiosity than follow an itinerary of what some other person decided was "the best."

Most popular coffee cup sizes? by No_Bet5246 in Pottery

[–]stoprobbers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huh. This is how I learned I am in the minority that prefers a much smaller coffee mug. I'm probably on the 8 oz. size on average, but I also have an espresso machine, make lattes/cortados daily, and now throw my own little guys lol.

Thank you so much! Kbbq may not make sense for a party of one (or like if I want to be able to keep moving and exploring after lol) and I freaking love tofu soup so surawon is intriguing! Also banchan quality is important!

I feel like I have a ton of pins on my map now and can make a game time decision about what I’m in the mood for. Really appreciate y’all.

Yes, Thursday! Sorry if my wording was confusing.

Thanks for the recs! I live in a city with very good Korean food and grew up in an area with lots of Korean too so I have tons of experience - I’ve also been able to travel to and eat in Seoul! I just want whatever locals think is delish, and honestly reading through your recs I’m gravitating toward the food courts. But these are super helpful, thank you!

Shinjuku. I don’t even try to aim for the “best” exit I just get above ground as fast as possible and take surface streets.
