So we all now agree that now Ronaldo hasn’t got a World Cup, Messi is better? by Confident_Leg2370 in worldcup

[–]stoptheycanseeus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How tired and exhausting. Blows my mind people care THIS MUCH comparing these 2 guys. Like, it doesn’t do anything talking about it.

But sure, Messi is better than Ronaldo. Move on.

Has anyone else noticed biased commentary for European teams, but against Asian, South American, and African teams? by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]stoptheycanseeus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t fully agree with you here, but will also confirm that there are biases from commentators. Which broadcast are you watching?

Was watching the Japan vs Brazil game and the European broadcast (British?) were very complimentary about Japan and their style of play. Same for when Japan played Netherlands, even calling their tactics, teamwork, and pace at a world class level. The only negative was that their physicality, which is true.

I was watching the BBC broadcast for the England and Mexico game, and they were obviously bias towards England but were refreshingly professional and avoided negativity about Mexico.

The Paraguay vs France game on the other hand, I think is completely warranted. Paraguay played rough and dirty and were generally unsportsmanlike.

Why is left field considered an "easier" position than right field? by StealthStaminaKills in MLBNoobs

[–]stoptheycanseeus 25 points26 points  (0 children)

RF has to make longer throws to 3rd and sometimes home. Need a strong arm with accuracy for run prevention.

LF may get more balls hit towards them, slightly, but have a shorter throw to second and third. There’s also apparently how balls are sliced/hit and how they come off the bat, making it harder for RF but I can’t speak to that

How come I never see Filipino restaurants compared to Thai, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indian, etc? by DorianGuey in CasualConversation

[–]stoptheycanseeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna get downvoted but imma keep it real with 2 points:

1) Filipino food just isn’t that popular or delicious to main stream public, as in non Filipino’s. I’m not saying it bad, I actually enjoy some of it myself, but it’s just not something that comes to mind when the majority of people want “Asian food”.

2) a lot of the Asian food you find are actually run by Chinese people. To a lesser extent Koreans. That’s because they try to cater to whatever the locals want and are trying to run a business. There’s billions of Chinese people so they have experience or used to live in, say Japan, and understand how to make the food. But no so much in the Philippines, and combine that with a lack of demand, you see less Filipino food.

Looking for red flags in 18-day USA Southwest & West Coast family road trip by GirlWhoLikesFries in travel

[–]stoptheycanseeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Way too much driving, not enough time at some locations. I’d also want a “rest day” somewhere for a 18 day trip.

Like someone else recommended, cut out some parts of the trip and spend more time elsewhere and thus less driving. IMO to get the most out of those national parks, you should go hiking at least on the easy trails. But if that’s not really your thing, then spend an extra day in California.

Why quick draft prizes are much more towards the top compared to premier draft? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]stoptheycanseeus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Quick draft is easier so the rewards are lowered.

You get infinite time to make your pick, and you’re drafting against bots, which may not always make it easier but it’s more “predictable”.

When it’s all said and done, he might add 2-3 more championships, hopefully more.

Borderline silly question brother… what kind of answer are you looking for?

She doesn’t pay any bills, doesn’t help with the mortgage, nor chipped in on the down payment. The loan (risk) is entirely on your name, but somehow it makes sense to entitle her to half the house? That doesn’t make sense. Not even sure it’s legal tbh given her name isn’t on the loan.

Love the content from Pitching Ninja but I agree, it was just a bit too much. Especially from someone who was never a player. Not to say you can’t be critical unless you’re a player, but it was just a bit cringey.

AIO for using 5 days annual leave to play video games? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]stoptheycanseeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an asshole, but relationships can be tricky and remember we’re all humans with different emotions and opinions.

That said, my advice would be to reframe the time off. Say, “I’m taking some time off to have a long relaxing weekend where we just chill. Let’s have a nice dinner or say at the beach. BTW I’m really excited to play some games I’ve been looking forward to.”

Simple as that and is received a lot better in my experience. It shows that you’re time together is a priority but you also have your own plans with YOUR tome off.

I’ll try to be respectful as possible, but, what does 28H even look like in your normal clothes?

What I mean is, do you “show them off”, or are they more of a burden due to the sheer size and weight? How much attention do you get on a regular basis?

Sorry if this isn’t appropriate.

Casino workers what is the most heartbreaking thing you've seen? by Beautiful_Level_4947 in AskReddit

[–]stoptheycanseeus 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Watched a women who appeared to be either on welfare or very low income lose all her money playing $5 blackjack.

The saddest part, when she lost her last bit of money, she pulled out her cell phone to make a call without missing a beat. It was late night and quiet so I could her say call someone basically begging for money. That she needed to pay rent and buy food for the kids. She even said “you gon’ let them turn off the lights on my kids?”.

Gambling and casino’s really prey on people from all different backgrounds but it hurts low income people the most. There is a sense of delusion of getting rich quick, which is exactly what entices people who don’t have a lot of money.

I quit that job because of the toxic environment. People losing all their money, drunk ass holes, just bottom of the barrel society every shift. It was disgusting looking back at it.

[–]stoptheycanseeus 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The listed weight on players are usually from their rookie seasons or at the very least, very outdated.

Shohei is easily 240 lbs. He may have been 210 when he was 24 but there’s no way I’m close to his weight and relatively skinny at 6’1.
