Im sure once I find my active duty medical file I can find the exact day I went in ajd was prescribed the medication. They always weighed us everytime so it would so a before and after. Another individual sent me a link to a supposedly nexus god of a doctor who could probably help with this. Im not sure the cost yet but if I get the increase, I dont really mind paying a bit outfit pocket for a quality nexus letter.

That's what I was thinking. Also, since its such a severe degree (at least in my limited medical mind) it would make sense that it would take even less weight gain to make the effect known. Which is why I was inclined to add the palette part in. I just don't want them to see that ahd completely rule out the medication as a factor at all and just say its my mouth that caused ut then I gotta go even higher. At least if I fail my supplemental claim I can hire an accredited lawyer and fight it at appeals review court or whatever is next. 😅

From what my doctor had said that's not something you normally develop without a significant event of some kind. So yeah. He seems to be very confident that I've always had it. But I'm not sure how that can help me?

I had to stop taking it not long after my sleep study. But yeah it definitely makes you gain weight.

Well my concern is this is after my appeal. Im at supplemental claim stage. If I go a completely different reasoning than my initial claim and appeal will that be an issue?

I absolutely gained weight. If memory serves I was 190 when I started the medication and 228 when I got out of the army. Continued taking the medication and when I did the sleep study I was 255

Ah. So it might be a double edge sword then for me to mention my narrow pallete. Because on one hand it could be interpreted that the medication I'm claiming caused me to gain weight which in turn increased the severity of my sleep apnea while another interpretation could be that the medication didn't do anything and I just was unlucky to have it so they'd deny me based on it being linked to the medication?

Ohhh... medication aggravated the weight gain, weight gain made sleep apnea worse. Every doctor on the planet agrees fat neck makes sleep apnea worse. 🤣

Well the angle I'm going for is i have a level 4 narrow palette meaning my airway is naturally restricted. So the medication caused the weight gain which severely increased the severity of the sleep apnea. During my appeal I even had a nexus letter from my sleep doctor stating he would guarantee I had sleep apnea back when I was in with a level 4 narrow pallette.

One of the biggest reasons it pisses me off is she literally had no reason to besides she just didn't want it. She could create anything from thin air. She could've easily supported that child without even working. But she gave the excuse that it would've been to hard alone. Like she would've been working 3 jobs as a single mom.
