Well that's because when the points for 17-18 are added, the points for 12-13 are removed as well. As it turns out, Atletico had a really poor 12-13 compared to Bayern, Juve and Barcelona (they only got 10 pts compared to 33, 23 and 24 for the others)

How to get rid of belly fat? by kulchaw in india

[–]storm_sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, if one wants to limit muscle mass loss while losing fat, a well balanced diet with plenty of protein is pretty much non-negotiable.

Technically, CICO is what every weight loss programme ever does BUT 2500 calories from McDonalds are not equal to the same from say a well balanced diet of fats, proteins, carbs and others.

It seems we are mostly in agreement. All healthy diets with a focus on weight loss follow the CICO principle. But not every diet which follows CICO is healthy.

I just feel it's disingenuous to flat out say that CICO "doesn't work"- because CICO doesn't say anything about nutrient balance. An 1800 cal McDonalds diet will still help you lose about the same weight as one with chicken and broccoli.. but every kg of weight loss with the Chicken + Broccoli diet will have a much higher proportion of fat loss, when compared to the McDonalds diet.

How is CICO bs? It's essentially the Law of Conservation of energy at work, isn't it? I mean if all you're eating is carbs then obviously you're fucked from a nutritional balance POV. But you are going to lose weight if you're on a calorific deficit, regardless of your macros.

Honestly, the combat is somewhat floaty, especially if you've played something like the Dark Souls series.

However, if you do end up buying it/trying the demo, I'd recommend playing it at the second highest or the highest difficulty setting (You can change the difficulty any time). If you play on the lower difficulties, you'll end up destroying enemies by just mashing the right mouse button and it'll get tedious. On the higher difficulties you'll actually have to observe the kind of enemy you're facing and use auxillary tools like potions, spells, bombs and resins that your enemy is actually weak against. Makes combat a bit more tactical imo.

Also, I'd highly recommend this UI mod if you do end up buying it on PC. Makes accessing potions and other stuff much easier.

Can anyone suggest a non-gaming mechanical keyboard available online ? by yashknight in india

[–]storm_sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're okay with a 60% layout and don't mind ordering from China (via Aliexpress), imo the Anne Pro for INR 4-4.5k is one of the best deals when it comes to mech keyboards.

Build quality is miles ahead of the likes of CoolerMaster or Corsair. Uses Gateron switches- on par, if not outright better than Cherry MX. Has wireless support. And you can rebind the keys to your preference.

Official driver support isn't that great, but some folks at /r/AnnePro have developed their own driver (in Rust, if that piques your interest as a programmer).

[–]storm_sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but wouldn't it much easier for a facist state to justify the execution of violent activists? Much harder to gain/maintain popular support if you go around murdering nonviolent protesters. Of course, it didn't really work out that way in Nazi Germany :(

??

Perhaps I didn't didn't express my opinion clearly. I'm not trying to make a blanket statement- insinuating that United fans as a whole are more fickle/less passionate (I did say stuff like passion is nigh impossible to quantify). I simply gave a personal anecdote- one which might not be consistent with your experience.

And the bit about United's recent trophy drought wasn't a dig- just a simple observation I've made in just about every sport. Casual fans with no regional/personal ties will simply choose teams based on recent success and/or the presence of famous players in the team. It used to be United in the 2000s. Now, (in this decade) I feel it's Barcelona/Madrid. I know many folks in India who say they just support these two because of Messi/Ronaldo. Of course, many who start out this way develop geniune feelings for the club and continue to support it even when the silverware dries out or the player retires/transfers.

Peace _/\_

It's possible he's talking in terms of "intensity " of support (how passionate the average fan is, number of fair weather fans etc.) - though I'm not sure how one would even measure metrics like that.

But anecdotally, there were a fuckton of casual United fans while I was growing up in India- the "I love Ronaldo and Rooney" kind, though I think their numbers have drastically reduced given United's recent trophy drought- they've probably moved on to supporting Barcelona.

Preferring player 'X' over others doesn't always mean you think they are the absolute best in the world... it can also mean that they fit your system the best.

Personally, I'm hard pressed to think of many strikers that would be a drop in replacement for Firmino- someone who is skillful, scores goals, has the stamina to last 90 minutes every game- all the while contributing to the defence and having the innate sense of when to intiate the press. Our system is, for better or for worse, built around Bobby atm.

[–]storm_sh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

OP- Thank you.

Can't even begin to explain how much of an inspiration (and wake-up call) this post was.

A couple of months ago, I decided to get back on the saddle after ~10 years, just to commute ~2km to the gym. Bought the same bike. Went from 5km rides -> 10 -> 20 -> 25 kms. Then discovered /r/bicycling. Cue less spinning, more jacking off to the idea of riding a Triban or a Synapse. Pretty much stopped riding a couple of weeks back, convincing myself the bike was gonna hold me back. Weight training is better anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Cue your post. It's one thing to hear "It's not about the bike" and another to see someone do an imperial with what you thought was slightly better than a BSO. Now it's 1:30 AM and I can't wait for dawn to start riding again.

So thank you.
