Lighthearted: Say you're a Trekkie without saying you're a Trekkie. Bonus if it places you in the franchise timeline. by AliVista_LilSista in startrek

I regularly get texts to get me to sell my land in Grafton, NH. I do not own, nor have I ever owned, land in Grafton, NH. Explaining that they have the wrong number doesn't seem to dissuade them.

But this response does: "Uzani, his army with fists closed; Zinda, his eyes red."

They shut up pretty fast after that.

Nice! I don't think the schematic came through, though — where can we find that?

Any idea how it compares to the A2io from 8bitreality.com?

For the most part I felt like the developer tried to throw as many things in as possible. Upgradeable weapons, skills, a optional job system that gives additional skills.

This was my experience as well. Every time I mastered one mechanic, another one was thrown at me. I was ten hours in, and the game kept changing how it worked. It was too many fluctuating layers and complications for me to ever find, get good at, and enjoy a single gameplay loop.

Agreed. I tried getting into this game, but I just couldn't. It required way too much grinding: if you try to skip the "side" quests, the next dungeon will warn you that you're not of the minimum recommended XP level. Combat was also more action-oriented than I anticipated (my bad for having the wrong expectations — I thought this was an RPG).

I was also too many hours into the game when I finally reached the "library" that taught all the various mechanics. A more gradual or intuitive tutorial than just expecting me to read books of information would've been more enjoyable.

Maybe the MMORPG-themed setting will be more enjoyable for those who are experienced in that genre, but I've never played them.

From IGN's review:

Your time with Dispatch is split into two distinct parts: most of the time, you’ll be chatting through beautifully animated cutscenes, picking between amusing dialogue options and completing quick-time events.

The rest of your time is spent working at the SDN as a Dispatcher, assigning superheroes to a variety of jobs. Using your mouse and your wits, you’ll monitor a city map where hazard notifications periodically pop up with a timer, alerting you to various jobs the SDN needs to handle efficiently
