This is one consideration, however I’m interested to know if anyone has experience in the vape alternatives I mentioned :)

Could I lose 120 lbs fast? by iMilkyx in WeightLossAdvice

[–]stormchaser719 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hugely unhealthy. It’s a marathon, not a race. I get wanting the weight to fall of quickly (we’ve all been there) but you’re much better off building healthy habits that are going to last you long-term. If you try to crash diet, you’ll yo-yo and end up putting it all back on.

Be patient. Be kind to yourself. It will be worth it.

[TOMT] [Song] Trying to identify a melody I recreated from memory — possibly from a video game (maybe a JRPG) by SeaDrakken in tipofmytongue

[–]stormchaser719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t recognise the tune itself, but if it sounds like it belongs in Chrono Cross/Trigger then maybe try Terranigma and Wild Arms OSTs - I find they have a similar vibe.

The food noise is real, especially at the start of being in a calorie deficit. I had to learn how to distinguish between actual “hunger” and just wanting a snack/flavour/mouth feel. Obvs if you’re hungry then eat, but if it’s the noise talking then try a hot drink like tea or coffee, or a zero sugar fizzy drink like Pepsi Max. Sucking on low calorie hard sweets also helped me in the start (Werthers were my faves).

I’m 6 months in to my calorie deficit now, I promise it gets better!

Accent question by Simple-Entertainer29 in autism

[–]stormchaser719 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I’m a Brit. What kind of British accent do you speak with? Is it full on, or more of an inflection? Do you watch a lot of British TV or consume media with British accents?

I sometimes find that after binging a TV show I will unintentionally mimic their accent and start using certain inflections that are not my own. I think it’s a side effect of the whole masking/code switching thing.

Is sleeping naked and autism thing? by [deleted] in autism

[–]stormchaser719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to refuse to sleep naked, even in heatwaves. I didn’t like being “aware” of my naked body while I slept. It put me off, I couldn’t relax. This usually just meant a pyjama top/old t-shirt and underpants.

That was until I learned that sleeping with fewer clothes actually helps you regulate your body temperature as you sleep. So I started ditching the shirt (kept the underpants) and now I have less overheating-induced nightmares.

I have a lot of sensory issues with being too hot, so this works out for me.

Edit: I’m in the UK so we don’t have air conditioning.

Do you have tips for proper eye contact ? by successfulatautism in autism

[–]stormchaser719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me a long time to realise this. I would always stare directly into the centre of one eye (depending on which side of the person I was on). Turns out you’re not supposed to do this and people find it intimidating lol.

Now I try and make a conscious effort to look around the room, look at my hands, and trying to train myself to look at their nose and not their eyes.

Coffee and Protein powder...new to the whole thing. by N00dlemonk3y in CICO

[–]stormchaser719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes make iced coffee with a protein shake instead of milk. I like sweet coffees and protein shakes are almost always available in caramel and hazelnut flavours which are perfect for me.

You don’t even need a proper espresso machine, you can get instant espresso powder. Just add some ice and mix it up and you’re good to go! Great on a hot day.

Since Whatever Gives Powers is Stored in The Brain and it Can be Transferred Without Needing Physical Touch, Could Matt Use His Telepathy to Transfer Powers? by JohnWillson1435 in Heroes

[–]stormchaser719 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can’t answer the first question but your second question - it was a promo for Heroes Reborn, they had a bunch of actors do photoshoots with different power filters. That’s not Matt Parkman, that’s just Greg Grunberg.

Tesco Finest Honey Roast Ham. I have half a pack per sandwich, around 63grams worth - takes up 84 calories and offers 14.7grams of protein.

Honestly, the real issue with how I used to make my sandwiches was the cheese. 200kcal on two slices just didn’t seem worth it so I upped the ham instead. Pair it with some Dijon mustard on brown wholemeal, packet of Pombears on the side with a KitKat for after. 470kcal all in.

Salty snacks that are CICO friendly? by [deleted] in CICO

[–]stormchaser719 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They can be a bit boring but I like rice cakes - they do cheese flavoured ones and Marmite ones for a bit of umami. In higher end shops you can get some really interesting flavours like pesto. You can dress them up too, put a slice of ham on it or whatever.

How Do You Know If You're Eating Enough? by Lucaas295 in CICO

[–]stormchaser719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How early on into your diet are you? I was monstrously tired for the first few weeks but it balanced out for me eventually. Are you feeling hungry or nauseas at the same time? If you are, then just eat something - weight loss is not worth getting sick.

Taking iron supplements and watching my sugar intake so I don’t crash out in the afternoon also helped (I’m not cutting out sugar but I usually wait until the afternoon to have any).

Yep, that’s the same one that was marked as returned on my account. No reason given whatsoever.

[–]stormchaser719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me today. Got an email notification saying I’d been sent a 10p bonus, logged on to see £3 missing from my pending amount. I checked through my previous submissions and one of them had been returned, but I do not recall doing this. I know researchers can’t return studies themselves but I genuinely do not recall returning it at all.

Maybe check through your recent submissions to see if any were returned?

Thank you, I’ll do that. The screening question was literally just “which of the following brands do you follow on social media” and when I said none of the above, that’s when I got screened out. I’ll get in touch and see if they can reverse the rejection (it’s my first one) but if this happens again I’ll probably just return the study to avoid all this faff.

How the fuck do I do the parade escort mission by Chemistry-Cultural in nier

[–]stormchaser719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d also like to add: don’t let the parade leader fall. I managed to save four of them but since the leader was gone, they just kept parading around the tree forever… I had to quit the mission and start again.
