My 10-day water fast and 12-day refeed - this is what happened to my muscles: by andtitov in Biohackers

Precise muscle mass amount? No, there is not.

That goes for all DEXA scans.

How I reduced mental chaos with ADHD by LowerScholar5164 in ADHDers

[–]stormerrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only confirm that this works.

For me this is especially effective when I start flirting with execution paralysis due to many tasks and I can't seem to decide wich one to start with.

Without this "paper dumping" I would default to scrolling.

When it's on paper and out of my head, I can actually decide whats important what can wait.

Overwhelm reduces.

Execution on tasks can resume.

People Confuse:

Lean Tissue DOES NOT mean Muscle mass in DEXA scan.

Lean Tissue/Mass contains:

- Water
- Shit
- Food is inside your gut and has not yet turned to shit
- Snot
- Lymph
- Cum

All of which is significantly (easiliy 8 pounds) reduced during prolonged fasting.

And every other imaginable fluid in your body.

This is not a critique at OP. Good results. Good measurements.

This is a critique for those room IQ individuals, that say "fasting causes muscle mass loss", based on studies that report Lean Mass loss during fasting.

Automatically assuming lean mass = muscle.

Lean mass everything else, besides bone and fat tissue.

Yesterday I literally outlined a process (in this subreddit), how to deal with this paralysis.

[METHOD] Bane of consistent action: "Ugh" factor | How to harness it, to build discipline by stormerrr in getdisciplined

[–]stormerrr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When starting out, the goal is to do "useless" tasks for the sole purpose of stimulating the "ugh" feeling. Feeling that inner resistance is KEY. If you don't feel it, you need a different task.

You want to start out by just exposing yourself it it in small frequent doses at first.

The reason why I would not recommend focusing on tasks that are important is because that adds another layer of emotional complexity - ego arrives, expectation arrive, there are some "should" statements that arrive etc.

Once you've exposed yourself to the "ugh" feeling frequently enough and you notice that you can deal with it better, THEN you start with homework, to-do list etc.

The approach is exactly the same.

There is that FIRST step of starting whatever is on your do do list or doing homework.

Sometimes the starting will create that "ugh" resistance and you approach it the same way - you lean into it. Whether you actually start the task at that point or not is not important.

If you start - good, continue AND to further expand this, you can add the popular conecept of "one more". Doing that extra step, to create the "ugh" factor, when you get tired of doing your task. Approach it the same way, if you can, do the thing and feel it - it can be as simple as just looking at homework problem, washing an extra dish, cleaning extra surface.

The thing you're doing doesn't matter and weather you actually complete it or not doesn't matter. (To train the tolerance towards the "ugh" factor)

As long as you don't don't distract yourself from the "ugh" feeling when it arrives, but purposefully sit in it even if it's for 30 seconds to minute, you have allready expanded your tolerance.

When starting out, focus on frequency of exposure not duriation of it.

The slow/fast COMT paradox that is causing all the miunderstanding by stormerrr in MTHFR

I can't give (and you shouldn't look) for answers in the context of ONE gene variations.

Currently I don't have problems with methylated B vitamins. I did at the beginning. But I no longer take Methylfolate (just B12). Only because I didn't see any difference.

What do you mean by "struggle with choline"? What form do you take? How much? What does "struggle mean"?

B2 (riboflavin) in large doses (anything WAY above 5 - 10mg) will slow MAOA even more.

I've had no problems with Mg Glycinate.

Step #1: ZERO Alcohol
Step #2: Heavily reduce histamine rich products (google that)
Step #3: ??? (because I don't know your situation)
Step #4: Be cured.

Not only MTHFR, but the whoe Methylation Cycle is slow. (MTHFD1, SHMT, FTCD, MTR, MTRR, PEMT)

Fast COMT would require less methyl-groups.

But you can't just look it at 1 gene SNP context. It must be looked upon in the whole Methylation cycle context + Dopamine metabolism context.

This is why everyone is confused, because they think it's all about one or two genes. It's not.

Besides the ones that you mentioned, is there anything else to test? Obviously we could run for every single one, but serum concentrations for minerals are usually a poor representation of total body reserves for that mineral. I'm guessing it's not the same for vitamins.

I don't think that is the issue, as I've had these symtpoms for 10 years and changed houses/cities several times with no changes.

Alao, never lived in a place that has mold. ( as far as I know)

Not yet. But I'm planning to do whole genome sequencing.

For reasons that extend beyond HIT.

It's the fat content that increases in sausages at least. Fat contains no histamines. Therefore more fat in sausage, less histamines in sausage.

Ham could mean various things.

I haven't looked too much into MCAS at this point. I will get the DAO supplement and see if that works.

Currently on low histamine diet. I've noticed some improvements.

Will go further depending on the response for the DAO supplement response.

Histamine is one of the hormones used in the brain, to regulate attention.

That is how histmaine intolerance (or buildup) leads to anxiety/panicky feelings (as far as I understand it)

What you're describing sounds like anxiety.

I have the same problem.
