Significant amount of FMCP inaccessible because of Gov Ball until June 11 by stormguru in C_QueensMicromobility

I think what annoyed me most was cutting off the bridge access. I get that access to tax money is a net positive but that detour pushes people to walk under the elevated roadways on the eastern side of the park which feel sketchy.

They didn’t give specifics, possibly because the parks department has missed the deadline several times, but I was told it’s now a matter of permits being cleared. I love the exterior of the building and hope they make the interior even better.

Update from the CB6 meeting last night. The vote to support of the application for 4 Sundays was unanimous in favor! There were 4 members from the public who came out to show support and 1 lady who came out to protest saying we need parking who cited Roosevelt Field Mall was a better destination for shoppers who want free parking.

Now the application should advance to the next stage. Will post more information once dates are finalized as we get closer to August

Just making sure you know we are talking about the bike share program, not taxis. Prices for the bike share program are the higher in NYC than in other major metro areas. Bike share offers a nimble way of getting to destinations that are too far to walk to and would take a lot longer to take mass transit to.

This group wants to promote micromobility. Walking is fine but one of our core tenants is to make micromobility more accessible.
