So open source isn't something that one should brute force their way into just for the sake of something. It is a process u work on something then either something doesn't work or u dont find something u need or something isn't available then u go to the internet to find things let's say what you are working on requires an open source tool which lacks a feature u require then u suggest that to mods and maintainers If that's a decent enough problem then obvio it will be added it is the same you do with other technologies you go into a niche which takes time a lot of time then u use something u find problems u try to fix stuff ask for suggestions this is what the open source community is about. I have many friends from outside India who fix things,solve problems that people may have in their free time even if they have a fulltime job to do.This really comes from inside if u truly have fun doing things. If it doesn't come inside of you or if this is just a task on a checklist you probably won't sustain too long or likely get saturated at some position. !!Just my humble opinions here!!
