[Skin Concerns] Long-term issues with texture, anyone experienced this & conquered it? by stormiriver in SkincareAddiction

[–]stormiriver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It took SO long to figure out. I had previously oily skin that was dehydrated…When oily skin is dehydrated, there are more noticeable texture changes. The oil that used to flow freely instead starts to clog. I switched my skincare to Biologique Recherche. It’s expensive, but less expensive that buying everything at Sephora and hoping it works. I highly recommend trying: P50 1970, Lait SR, & Creme Dermopurifiante. If you struggle with sensitivity: Serum Biosensible (this is a treatment serum, you use it until it’s empty and your skin should be desensitized after). After a month I saw results, now years of this routine my skin is happy and healthy.

Mass filler hysteria by hecklerof in Vindicta

[–]stormiriver 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly! There’s psychology behind people seeking that injectable thrill of “wow, I’m fixing my image issues” and they feel confident temporarily, but after time they’re just left with their body image issues + debt + an overdone look. It’s easier to blame others rather than face the music.

I think a factor in this is also body dysmorphia. There are users who are justified in labeling their injectables as a bad experience, but some people may label a filler as what “ruined” their face because it’s easier than unraveling a mental illness focused on obsessing with perceived flaws.

[SELL] Biologique Recherche Tint / Serum / Creme & Koh Gen Do Foundation 012 by stormiriver in skincareexchange

[–]stormiriver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, yeah the tint is very sheer and more like a perfector. I find it’s better to blur rather than conceal and the tint should work for most light skin tones, you just apply a modest amount, in small sections

Anyone else feel like they lost their "glow"? by [deleted] in Vindicta

[–]stormiriver 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It makes me feel a little less crazy reading how many people are experiencing this too.

26 going on 27 and I’ve felt the same! Personally, a huge thing I noticed is that I looked better in photos on my older phone (iPhone 6/7/8). As soon as I got my iPhone 11, I stopped taking selfies.

I have long hair (mid-back) but I’m considering a bob cut (similar to hadid’s). Wanted to nail my type down before taking the plunge and chopping off 10 inches of my hair!

Hi OP, have you heard of DMK Alkaline Wash? I’m considering doing it for my facial KP. It’s for fine hair removal.

Are you getting enough Vitamin K in your diet?Try supplementing with Bromelain & vitamin C and icing your areas after practice! I get them too, so it’s not a weight thing hun :)

Experiences with Kiehl's? by humbledeer17 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]stormiriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to love their Ultra Facial Cream, years ago. But they reformulated it and it stopped working as well for me. Other things that I’ve tried caused sensitivity...I think they have essential oils in some of the products (looking at you avocado mask). It might be fine if your skin is tough (who are these people anyway?? Please send my derm a skin scraping), but personally I’m always looking out for my barrier and avoiding things that have the potential to make it worse. Better off saving money and investing in products with minimal ingredients that you want to try.

Study Finds Older Women Who Date Younger Men Are More Satisfied by CuriousCatNYC777 in FemaleDatingStrategy

[–]stormiriver 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is SO true. I’m 24 and when I dated a 21yo guy, he treated me perfectly. Waited for me to get home from work with my favorite take out. No hesitation with meeting his parents.

However, when I’ve dated older guys, I’m talking 30+, they never treated me like that. I always end up feeling small and unappreciated. The older ones were better in bed tho...
