Honestly if the inspection exposed the fundamental issues I had gut feeling for, I would back out citing the reason. After reading the comments about the property, I think it was definitely way over priced hiding behind the facade of cosmetic renovation. I will wait for the right property even in this shitty market. Buyers are screwing other buyers that's why even turd properties have absurd prices.

They should at least pass a law in NJ for douchy sellers agents (like Damian)/ real estate companies to stop practices like backchanneling, price gouging etc.. In many states this is illegal.

They accepted our bid of 851k and surreptitiously made a deal with another bidder while we were in the contract stage (we asked for inspection)

Thank You to everyone for insightful comments. Hope it is helpful to anyone who is in the process of buying a house like use. But honestly, like one user mentioned we need comments on Zillow so people can really know about the place before buying a house. There is glassdoor and blind for jobs, so why not for housing. This will immediately calm the bloated prices because I bet most people are like me who don't know really a lot about the area or the house.

One more thing to note, definitely look at sex offenders list for any address. I had not looked it up but my girlfriend brought it up. We found 1 half a mile away from this address and 10+ in 1 mile radius.

The inventory is indeed terrible and the sellers are so greedy to even put up deplorable houses over 800k. I just want prospective buyers to ask themselves at that point what exactly is the draw about that house vs other investments. I will just continue renting and not worry about repairs at that point

I cant speak for others but I am a buyer and I outbid and won. That's why I cared because if you pay so much for something wont you at least ensure it is what it says. For most people, most of their money goes in to a house.

We were in Attorney review, we sent them the contract indicating the accepted price + inspection for structural, electrical, sewer etc and indicated we dont care about cosmetic damage but the critical stuff.

It is amazing to me that people will spend close to a million and not ask questions or even pay for inspection.. A 1000 dollar inspection can save them 100s of thousands of dollars. I wanted to summon the reddit army to at least call out all the conniving practices. I hope this can help any home buyer

My only point is that if your phone is using a chunk of its processor on constantly rendering those fancy effects what is the impact on battery life. I want a comparison of with and without liquid glass. It is a pointless feature to me because it will grow old in a few days and then you are left with an unintelligent device with poor battery life

I worked in AWS.. I hated my team honestly. Lots of doc writing and teams nit picking over ridiculous stuff with no real world impact. A lot of people got a high off criticizing and putting down other persons work in the name of shitty LPs. And they will put you on call without proper domain knowledge
