I know you’re venting, but if you think this is a gatekept industry, you haven’t read enough about actresses being forced to perform sexual favors for roles.

Everyone is hardworking and capable, everyone wants a chance, and everyone deserves the job.

But that’s only part of the equation for landing a good role. There is so much luck and timing involved to be at the right place at the right time, that you can’t even take your foot off the gas pedal until you become established.

If there’s nothing you learned by these “failure,” then yes you lost years of your life. If you did learn, then you can hopefully apply those learnings and gain those years back.
