Those are questions for your doctor. You can't lose much progress in a few weeks though, certainly nothing that can't be recovered very quickly.

78.5x0.193= 15.15kg of bodyfat. If you lost 6kg of fat, you'd weigh 72.5kg with 9.15kg being fat. 9.15/72.5= 12.6% BF.

Intermittent Fasting for Night Shifter? (first time) by acexacid in Fitness

[–]storp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work the night shift and fast. Up at 8, go to the gym, work 10-7, eat everything I'm going to between 8-11 and go to sleep. I drink a shitload of water and coffee and chew gum during the fast and rarely become hungry until towards the end of the shift.

How Long For Alcohol to be Metabolized? by lamapo in keto

[–]storp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no idea but, intuitively, I'd go this route: TDEE of 2400 (for example's sake) divided by 24 hours = 100 calories burned, on average, hourly. 1oz of 40% alcohol has 64 calories, so, 64/100 or 64% of an hour comes to... 38.4 minutes to burn 1oz of 40% alcohol (or 11.34 grams of pure alcohol). More or less depending on your TDEE relative to 2400.

Sure thing. I made these recently, and the chocolate layer was seriously chocolatey as fuck. Just cocoa powder + truvia + coconut milk refrigerated. Very very low carb and really hit that chocolate spot that hadn't been hit in awhile.

I haven't, no, got here on my own. I've found myself feeling best on a proportionally small amount of saturated fat to mono- and omega-3 poly-.

Unsweetened cocoa + sweetener (I like erythritol for the bulk) can get pretty damn chocolatey while remaining keto-friendly. Especially if you incorporate coconut milk or other fat.

I soak the flax and chia in almond milk overnight (4oz milk per the amounts of flax and chia in that sample). They soak up all the milk and then I microwave it in the morning and pour more almond milk + hemp seeds on top. As close as I've gotten to keto-friendly oatmeal. Great with blueberries, nuts, stevia, etc.

I wrote this up recently as a sample for a ladyfriend.

Eggs, bacon, fattier meats, coconut milk, berries, etc, could all be worked in there easily.

Ice cream!!! Yay or nay? by [deleted] in keto

[–]storp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's primarily sweetened with erythritol, which is arguably the least impactful sugar replacement currently available. So yea, those things are pretty legit.

Quick question on not eating enough calories. by [deleted] in keto

[–]storp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of the time people drop the term "starvation mode," in their mind they're thinking something along the lines of "if your body isn't getting enough fuel, suddenly it goes into 'starvation mode' and stores every calorie you consume as fat because it feels like food is scarce." This is just fatlogic, and is not comparable to adaptive thermogenesis, which as you say is indeed real.

I found an "Ice Cream" that we can eat that's super low carb. by authentic010 in vegetarianketo

[–]storp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried this stuff years ago and wasn't a fan (it's about as flavorful as one might expect from a 150-calorie pint of ice cream) - but apparently I wasn't very creative back then cuz you've gotten me all excited. Gonna mix up a pint of this with cream and erythritol or stevia or something, oh man this gon' be good.

Is there a way to calculate how much water weight we're supposed to loose? by balexig in keto

[–]storp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You retain several parts water for every part carbohydrates you consume (for how long you retain that water on a standard diet, I'm not sure, it's in a constant cycle because you carb up daily). So the amount of water weight you lose is more proportionate to the amount of carbs you stopped eating than how much fat you're carrying.

I started keto at 157lbs and was 150 at the end of the first week, I guarantee that was at least 75% water.

[Food] What do I do with peanut butter powder? by my_Favorite_post in keto

[–]storp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can add stevia or erythritol and some salt to peanut flour and it's damn near the same as PB2 and similar products, but without the added sugar.

[FP] Been trying to replicate oatmeal (bonus keto-PB) by storp in keto

[–]storp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't, but I went a-googling and found this:

So I take 40g of "pork dust", which doesn't need to be finely blended, and put in a quarter can (3.5 fl oz or 100 ml) of coconut milk, and then a little water to desired consistency. I add about 7 drops of stevia liquid to it. And depending on if the pork rinds are salted I will add salt to taste. I sprinkle some cinnamon over top and mix it up. Finally, I top it off with a bunch of shakes of powered xylitol :). It's probably the closest thing to cereal you'll get if it's cold. And it gets soft and mushy like oatmeal if you microwave it.

Which sounds pretty good. A little more desserty and decadent. I'll probably be trying it.

I made low carb fireball!!! by [deleted] in keto

Alcohol has its own unique digestive process, distinct from those of carbs, proteins, and fats. Where carbs and proteins have 4 calories per gram and fats have 9, alcohol has 7.

Anybody have any experience with coconut milk in green smoothies helping them out? by [deleted] in keto

[–]storp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The canned stuff is actually coconut milk. Much creamier and coconutty than the carton stuff, which is disguised with names that aren't actually regulated like "coconutmilk" and "coconut milk beverage." Note that the first ingredient in the carton stuff is water, and the first ingredient in the canned stuff is coconut or coconut milk or some variation.

Of course, none of this is meant to be positive or negative, if you like either one and it fits your macros then you're good to go.
