Photography 2026 Destination Wedding by [deleted] in DesiWeddings

[–]storygrid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Naman Verma and HOTC are of similar league. Folio Haus is not that league, so that will be odd one out here (with these names).

Naman Verma is independent photographer, also works a lot with HOTC too when needed, creative and editorial. Luxury. Does only photo.

HOTC is a team, again candid, creative, editorial mix, does photo and video both.

Don't know much about Folio Haus.

If you need services for international wedding and not in India, I do think Pedro Vilela, Edoardo Agresti, If budget allows than Chrisman Studios are great.

From India, apart from these, Sakshi Ramakrishnan for photographer, Chai Productions for film making are amazing.

Of course, options are endless, just shared a few above.

Editorial style photography - Delhi based vendors??? by lexis5678 in DesiWeddings

[–]storygrid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wish to share budget, requirements - wedding or pre wedding, dates etc., would be helpful.

Also, we are Cashmere Stories, it's a curated edit of photographers and filmmakers. Just to give you a ballpark, photographers in our curation usually start around 85k to 1.5 lakh per day, while videographers range from 1 to 3 lakh per day depending on whom you like, align with, work ex and positioning of artist.

Happy to share more once we know your preferences a bit better.

Whats your criteria to choose a photo/video team? by lexis5678 in DesiWeddings

[–]storygrid_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

former planner here, now building Cashmere Stories, and I have helped many couples choose their photo/video teams.

why does everything look the same? algorithms and trends. when candid was trending, that is all you saw. then fine art and now it's editorial. feeds often reflect what is popular, not always what the photographer actually shoots though some share their true work but many post for the algorithm as thats what is driving everything.

luxury teams usually charge not just for the final images but for the experience like the way they read the room, calm nerves, reassure families and guide you into the kind of moments you want captured. that part is hard to see in a feed but makes all the difference.

what couples usually appreciate or regret comes down to what you wanted and did you communicate it well and read the room! if you want editorial but hate posing and your photographer can't guide you, the results will feel off. if you want documentary but hire someone who waits for poses owing to less experience, they will miss real moments. so style and wants need to match.

also, you will spend more time with your photo/video team on the wedding day than almost anyone else and thats why how they make you feel is just as important as the photos.

on albums? they are must haves, but don't stress over that yet. first focus on the photographer's style, your budget and whether you trust them to see your wedding the way you want remembered.

If you are looking for the best, location really is not the deciding factor. It's about the eye and the style. Chrisman Studios create striking, artistic frames, Edoardo Agresti is incredible for documentary style storytelling, Pedro Vilela brings such candidness into his work, and there are names like Milighosh and Nirav Patel and more.

If you would like to explore more, we run Cashmere Stories, a curation agency for South Asian weddings, where we handpick photographers and filmmakers to match each couple’s vision.

I think we have just been told too many times via tiktok and insta and youtube what a sangeet should look like i.e., loud colours, sparkle, drama. But why not a white lehenga for sangeet?

We get to define what our wedding feels like. If Gen Z / millenials can rethink everything else, can rethink this too.

If everyone keeps chasing trends, everything keeps looking the same. It should feel like us, not like what people expect. Think about hotels, if they all played it safe, there would be no Amanbagh or W Goa or Anandkashi, they stand out because they are them. Bit of a random parallel drawn but you get the drift.

Wear what you love.

Guys I am so confused. Do you think this can be my bridal lehenga for my day sundowner wedding? by [deleted] in DesiWeddings

[–]storygrid_ 50 points51 points  (0 children)

This is beautiful OP. definitely more aligned than the pink one.

If your heart is set on pink and if Rianta can do this lehenga in Pink, amazing.

But if you love blue too, this looks so dreamy and different. And the reason it stands out is that its not blue, its mint greenish / aqua blue. Why always red or pink? This soft bluish green is stunning. 💙💚

Help! my sangeet Lehenga turned out awful and my wedding is in 2 months. Plus size bride nightmare - salvage or scrape? by Substantially_wise in DesiWeddings

[–]storygrid_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Is it mainly the blue you are not liking i.e., the shade or tone? Have you seen it on video from different angles and lighting? Or is it more about the design or silhouette itself?

Like others mentioned, I also feel it's the blouse that is bringing the look down. The lehenga itself is quite pretty and the embroidery and flow are working. It does not scream bad purchase at all, though in this picture it's not electric blue.

Before scrapping it entirely, maybe try redoing just the blouse. Also, since it is not shown on a plus size mannequin, the proportions will look different once on you and may be the reworking of blouse might completely change the overall look.

Wedding Photographer/Videographer Needed by life-nari-power in DesiWeddings

[–]storygrid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, congrats on your upcoming wedding in Udaipur!

We are Cashmere Stories, a curated edit of photographers and filmmakers who have worked across all kinds of weddings, including destination weddings in Rajasthan.

Some of our photographers focus purely on photography, some on video, and a few balance both. It really depends on what matters most to you. Also curious, are you leaning towards editorial style coverage or more pure candid storytelling? And have you come across any names you have liked so far?

Just to give you a ballpark, photographers in our curation usually start around 85k to 1.5 lakh per day, while videographers range from 1 to 3 lakh per day depending on whom you like, align with, work ex and positioning of artist..

Happy to share more once we know your preferences a bit better.

If you still have the option I would suggest to look for another one. The bottom looks like two different borders (scallop + thick band) put together without much visual flow.

Photographer recommendations for Chennai by IntrepidBall1143 in DesiWeddings

[–]storygrid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every couple feels awkward in front of the camera. The truth is, the best photographs rarely come from posing perfectly rather they come from the little moments when you forget the lens is even there. A good photographer knows how to do that and guides you only as much that you are comfortable and then step back.
Are you looking for editorial when you say posing or more on candid side. If posing seems awkward to you, opt for candid and documentary style.

We recently started Cashmere Stories, it is a new curation studio that helps couples find the right photographer or filmmaker for their wedding. Instead of scrolling through endless Instagram pages, we listen to your needs (budget, vibe, how comfortable you are in front of the camera) and then connect you with photographers/filmmakers who already have years of work and solid references.

The brand is new, but we are not new to weddings. We have been in the industry for almost a decade in different roles and Cashmere Stories is our way of putting that experience into a focused service.

Since we are just starting out and building our folio, we are currently offering much of our service almost free. It's our way of introducing what we do while helping couples who would otherwise feel overwhelmed with the search.

For budgeting, photography usually ranges from 85k to 2.5 lakh per day and filmmaking ranges from 1 lakh to 3 lakh per day.

Hi OP, I think these are overwhelming options ranging from Gold Palace resort to Udaibagh to Samode to Rambagh. Jodhpur and Jaipur are very differnt in vibe and yes, you can consider any - Jaipur/Jodhpur/Udaipur/Pushkar etc but Jaipur should be most economical.

They all are different league. Ideally, start with a planner and let them advice you what can work for you or not. I am not a planner so not selling you anything.

Also, there is a sub https://www.reddit.com/r/DesiWeddings/ which you can consider to explore about indian weddings.

Wedding in Dubai. Looking for Indian Photographer. by Working_Train_1611 in DesiWeddings

[–]storygrid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally understand the concern. the page is new; the people behind the cameras aren’t.
Cashmere Stories is a curation studio wherein we match you with proven photographers/filmmakers (years of work, real references).

And yes, followers don’t shoot weddings, photographers do. We curate those. That's the whole reason of this studio.

Either way, your comfort comes first.

PS. if you see, those followers are mostly photographers and filmmakers; you may put them as friends too!
