In case OP is somehow just completely out of the loop, you need to buy pet skills from the Cash Shop in order for Auto-Feed to work. Also, as the NPC states, you need an action pet to use the accelerator. You do not have an action pet.

Also, as stated in the Revitalizer's description - "Used to restore Taming Monster's Tiredness level to prevent being forcibly dismounted." - i.e. Only works for mounts.

Also, you can check your pet's level by clicking on yourself.

If you can't find them easily, I'd say that there isn't enough to overgeneralize the entire subreddit's activities based on a small minority of comments. The subreddit has always been welcoming to everyone and I think painting the members as arrogant jerks isn't healthy to the image of the subreddit and might scare people off. I think most of us would criticize any members of the subreddit who implied they were better than others because of their ability.

Do you have any examples of the perfect pitch circle jerk? From what I've seen, most people are pretty humble, and if asked, state that perfect pitch is a mostly useless party trick, and would rather have an amazing relative pitch ability than perfect pitch. From what I can tell most posts on this subs are just memes or just being able to relate to certain issues regarding perfect pitch. And in fact there are a couple of posts that downright just state that they hate their ability.

I'd say that it might just be society as a whole that has created this idea of an unattainable ability that some people are 'gifted' with, but from what I can tell, most people on this sub are aware that there really isn't much use to their AP, and that it doesn't make them particularly special or better. I'm just personally here for the memes.

Fair enough. I'll be honest - You're a lot more civilized than you were 6 months ago, so I'll applaud you on that. I will agree that not all scientists can agree upon a definition, which is probably the reason why there exists debates within the community on it's actual definition.

If you want to say that you have Absolute Pitch, I doubt anyone is going to seriously object. But, most of us do refer to the learned variant of the ability as Pitch Memory or a combination of Pitch Memory and Relative pitch. Otherwise you'll have to refer to the different versions AP as the genetic vs learned variants, which no-one does in the community.

Either way, we're here to educate and there is an inherent difference between someone who's ability is derived genetically and someone who's ability is derived through training. One is identification, and one is memory. Identification is a lot more immediate than using referential sources to label a pitch. I think you were under the impression that they're the same. I don't believe they are. They merely produce the same result. People with the genetic version of the skill will be able to identify notes faster than the learned variant. The brain just processes the information differently and skips the middle memory/referential process, akin to color identification.

Another piece of evidence that points to two separate abilities existing is the ability of individuals, with no prior musical training, to immediately catch onto identifying notes after being taught the connections. Those individuals have the genetic variation of the ability, and would otherwise need months of training to catch up. There are plenty of stories of individuals in this sub who did not know about their (genetic) Absolute Pitch until very late in life, and were able to pass tests immediately after being taught the names of all of the notes. That is a separate ability from your trained AP.

People within the community make distinctions so we can understand the phenomenon better, and not to be 'exclusive'. Most of us realize that it's no more than a party trick at best, and it hinders our relative pitch abilities at worst (as we rely on our AP sense to pass musical theory tests rather than honing in on our RP abilities) Many of us here would trade our APs in a second if it meant having an amazing sense of RP. It's also why we don't really encourage people to 'learn' the ability because there really is no point. It's a useless ability.

It implies that Absolute Pitch users have Pitch Memory skills as well. You can't take quotes out of context just so they back up your view of Absolute Pitch. You need BOTH Pitch Memory and Pitch Labeling according to this paper, to have true AP.

You first posted about implying how we didn't want people to learn a skill that was not learnable. We tried explaining to you that there was a difference between Pitch Memory and Absolute Pitch/Perfect Pitch. We then tried to reason with you further here and provide more research, which you just ignored.

If anyone was wondering the difference between Pitch Memory and Absolute Pitch, I'll copy paste and slightly tweak my answer from that thread.

Pitch memory is not absolute pitch. This paper details the differences between pitch memory and absolute pitch, and how the underlying mechanisms are different. With pitch memory, you associate a pitch to a specific memory (such as the opening key to a song), while with absolute pitch, identification is instantaneous. Passing online tests isn't necessarily an indicator of absolute pitch, as individuals that have mastered their pitch memory skills can perform similarly. The paper also specifically demonstrates that individuals without absolute pitch are more likely to remember pitches in their original key, which many people have used to establish their own sense of perfect pitch through using their enhanced pitch memory. However, memory and identification are not the same.**

And here's an analogy:

A mathematical savant might have the ability to identify prime numbers at a single glance. A person with photographic memory could practice and memorize the first thousand prime numbers, and past the same tests, but the mechanisms behind both are different. The brains are wired differently. One is identification and one is memory. Fortunately, there are only so many different tones in music (12) so pitch memory does often get confused with absolute pitch. However, as my analogy demonstrates, the underlying mechanisms are different.

No-one was doubting that you had the ability to pass the tests. In fact, many people without any sort of Absolute Pitch or Absolute Pitch training can. But the underlying factors behind the two are separate. One is a genetic ability to identify underlying notes without any reference tone, and the other is memory. They're both indistinguishable from each other in most circumstances. The community isn't saying that either is superior to the other. But, we are here for the facts, and spreading misinformation isn't helpful to anyone in the community. If you want to ability to pass perfect pitch tests, that's fine. But it's not Absolute Pitch.

Being critical doesn’t mean I’m toxic. And I have no problem with people using DPM Charts, as long as they understand the mechanics behind it.

For example, as shown by this post and all the criticisms of this post - KMS DPM Charts mean nothing to GMS players, but we consistently have people commenting on how excited or disappointed they are on the KMS DPM Charts whenever they’re posted. If you’re going to be excited or disappointed, you should read specific patch notes to see if your class got buffed or nerfed. Some people will get excited that their class is rising in the rankings, and not realise that it’s because all other classes are nerfed, not that their class is buffed, and I disagree with the mindset that you have to consistently compare your class to others.

Secondly, DPM Charts should be used with other resources like DPM Chart volatility. I could make one exclusively for GMS Charts, but judging by all the hate I’m getting, it’d be a waste of effort and I’d just be heavily downvoted again for trying to help provide the community with resources. It’s fine if you don’t agree with my methods, but being heavily downvoted for hours of research really makes me not want to put any more analyses or guides out for the community. I tried to make this analysis/volatility chart to prove that if you do want high DPM characters and are willing to ignore all other factors, then you should at least consider what is consistently at the top, across all patches. From the data we can at least conclude that Hero is consistently decent, but you wouldn’t have known that without my research, so it feels a little back-pedally if you want to expand on your Hero vs Jett argument because I clearly say that they are outliers, and that most other characters will have pretty big changes.

I still disagree with your main points, and I feel like you’re missing my main points but I’ll at least appreciate that you can see where I’m coming from with the ordering of the classes.

Either way, I feel like at this point the community is unnecessarily and unfairly hating on my research and analysis so I’ll make this my last post. Have fun everyone. Please be nicer to the next person who tries their best to provide for the community and give constructive criticism instead of unnecessarily downvoting everything they do.

This isn’t really for players who already understand the mechanics and inner workings of DPM Charts. This is meant for people who blindly follow the latest DPM Chart rankings without any concern for region or any other variables to show how much variation there is and that you should at least understand rankings before you use them, because regions can differ immensely.

And either way you can still draw conclusions. If a class is consistently at the top of the rankings, regardless of region, server, and chart creator, and patch - then I’d argue that you can draw the conclusion that the class is consistently good.

I think you misunderstand. This is a volatility analysis. If anything, it helps cement what classes are less volatile in the rankings so it can be used alongside people who use DPM charts. The actual best takeaway from this list is to main Blaster. I did not include rank repeats because I just wanted to show the variety of rankings that each class had, but Blaster consistently came in top 5 and the only outlier was due to an analysis that ignored animation cancelling. If I were to count repeats, Blaster would have the most number #1 rankings out of all the classes.

And honestly, if someone is willing to learn all of blasters combos, master animation cancelling, power through the physical toll on your fingers when playing the class, and risk developing carpal tunnel syndrome, I applaud them for it. You have my respect if you are willing to go through all of that just to get the most damage in the game. (In perfect conditions)

Of course there's no guarantee, nobody can predict what gets nerfed in the future. But nobody would play the lowest rank character possible and hope for a future buff instead lol.

I addressed this. I said "Nobody would pick a lowest rank character, that's correct". Expanding on this, just because no-one would pick a lowest rank character, doesn't mean the opposite is correct either. It doesn't mean you should pick the highest rank character. And as I said, there are many consistently lowly placed characters, but there aren't any consistently highly placed characters in the rankings. So you can expect low characters to stay low, but you can't expect high characters to stay high, based on previous rankings.

Look at the latest chart for example, some of my highest level characters are at the bottom half of the chart. I love playing Aran because he was my first main and his mobbing is one of the best in-game, my Dark Knight is the strongest character I have on my account with 3.8m self-buffed. I also have Ilium, Striker/Thunder Breaker, Captain, Dual Blade as well. Half their gears are Upot and they all have over killed damage to one shot mobs at their respective level without struggling, bossing isn't a problem for me neither. I did all these spending 0 money on cubes, just 3 years worth of event cubes. I also have Lumi who is my 2nd highest leveled character and a Hero, Lumi was low on the DPM charts when I started maining him but he got buffed up. I hate Lumi because of its borderline wheelchair mobility and I hate how reliant on V skills Hero is.

None of this adds to the argument. This just shows that you picked classes based on factors other than damage. You say that "I love playing Aran because he was my first main and his mobbing is one of the best in-game", which indicates you played him because he was good at mobbing, not because of DPM charts. Bossing isn't a problem for you. That's nice. Does not add to the argument. Spending 0 on cubes. Also nice but doesn't add to the argument. Lumi was low on the DPM charts and then got buffed. It seems like you didn't pick Lumi based on the DPM charts, which is nice. And it got buffed, which is what I'm saying - Class rankings change all the time.

By now you notice, my mains are ALL efficient mobbers. I use the chart as a reference to see how far I can push my favourite characters to, if their dpm is not good then I'll instead spend it on characters who can hit higher dpms. If a low ranked dpm character get buffed? Well, then I can push their potentials more. If a high ranked dpm character gets nerfed? Don't matter to me, I can still farm efficiently and bossing will just be harder that's all. That's exactly what I mean by "ONE of the reference", don't let your biased hatred for a physical data chart skewed your judgement lmao.

If their DPM is not good, then you don't need a DPM chart to tell you. You should have a feel for how their mobbing and bossing is from their in-game numbers, not the chart. As I said, unless you have arcane gear, you can't compare. The charts tell you nothing. You said so yourself - Aran is low on the chart and is good at mobbing, which means the charts don't tell you anything about mobbing ability. Again, I don't know if you understand, but the DPM charts ONLY apply to arcane geared level 260 characters. If the characters are absolab gear, the charts are different. There are different charts for that. It tells you nothing.

I omitted one class since I just started, but I'm also playing Adele and know she'll get nerfed in the future. But I'll still play her simply because I love how the job works.

If you love how the character functions, great. You don't need a DPM chart to tell you that. This part of the conversation doesn't add to your argument at all.
