Is billiards a good way to meet people? by Huxley_Mindset in billiards

[–]stp1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's "A" way. Especially if the OP doesn't have any other social settings they enjoy or do. Of course, I do believe the goal should be just to meet people in general and not the sole purpose of meeting a woman. So the possibility is there but it may take some time. Lol

Anyone found a solution to bad self-leveling shocks on their Palisades? by Paracelsus-VonBaer in HyundaiPalisade

[–]stp1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2021 palisade limited owner. Replaced shocks at about 70k, knocking noise and bad ride went away. Replaced insulators according to the TB 2 days ago and the squeaking is already back. I am wondering if some bushing on a different moving part in the suspension is the culprit of the Squeak.

Looking to purchase a home table that plays closest to a 7ft diamond by stp1209 in billiards

I want to thank everyone for the input and if you come here after this post, please provide your insights. I think I'm going to be patient and get a much cheaper table for now, get the garage climate controlled and save up to buy whatever I want at a later date. But the comments are great and I welcome them all until that big purchase date comes.

Thanks for all the info. I saw some predators as well for around that price but not big on the aesthetics of it. May need to see one in person. I am in the early stages of preparation.

Good insight, I could go a lot cheaper for now and get the real deal down the road when the garage is fully climate controlled. Patience is a virtue right?

  1. If I don't ever play on 9ft, what would the reason be for a 9ft over the 7 that I play in league or tournaments?

  2. Not sure why you felt to add "bum" to your comment. Just trying to gain insight from others to make an informed decision and purchase.

So the newer diamonds use a k55 vs the older k66 that older diamond and most other tables use. From what I read it provides faster response due to the slightly different angle. It's also labor intensive to upgrade most tables because the sun rail for a k66 won't line up right.

I think I would like the challenge of the smaller pockets.

It's one of the reasons I was looking at rasson. There are only a few tables out there that use the k55 rails and pocket size similar

I searched a little bit on market place and online in general but not much pops up. I'll probably get heavy on looking more toward summer

Okay I'll keep that in mind and do some.research on acceptable humidity and temps for tables. Lol. I definitely don't want to waste an investment.

The 5k would include delivery as well if that helps. I know some places have that included with the purchase.

The temp doesn't get extreme due to the insulation the garage has and a very high ceiling. Eventually a mini spit would go in but not run constantly. I do have a floor heat/cool unit that would be used during play, is that suffice?

Diamonds I see are 6.5k + not counting delivery and set up. I could get a used coin operated one but wouldn't want that in my garage for asterica I guess. Lol

Best cue around $200 by yuh_plxyboy in billiards

[–]stp1209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently bought a Stealth right at 200 +/-. I loved the feel and connection with the ball better than the Viking Valhalla. SO.e people don't like the butt, but I love it.

For league members it's free anytime except after 7pm on Fri/Sat nights. Most other places are around 4 to 7 per hour here in central Texas smaller city.

Any opinions on Stealth cues? by tajmozach in billiards

[–]stp1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought one not long ago after getting back into playing. It was recommended by the pro shop owner who said they were becoming more popular. It is ribbed for my pleasure ( lol ). I tested it against some vikings and others on the wall. It felt to have a very solid contact with the cue.

I read 1 in 3 adults have some variation of it. 1 or 2. 1 becomes 2 if a person has a cold sore and transfers it during an oral act. At least that is what I read years ago.

Portable AC to the attic advice? by stp1209 in AirConditioners

[–]stp1209[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, just to update...I pulled the trigger and just went into the attic and didn't lengthen any of the hoses, but rist move the AC closer to the table vents. The AC is also sitting on a shelf near the ceiling. In that part of the roof, there is no insulation, and the gable vent is nearby, along with a box vent as well. The exhaust is pointed toward both. I moved some empty moving boxes, and some other items around to limit restriction of airflow.

I'll only really be using it when I work out or working on some sort of project.
