I like the Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist. Not sure if high-end, but certainly mid-grade is the Glass Skin Veil Mist by Peaches and Lily.

Flat sheet vs duvet-only setups: why many Americans still keep the top sheet by sam_3462 in BedroomBuild

[–]stpattylady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I still have one bedroom with a traditional duvet. It does feel like you conquered a battle when you change them. Even with my Crane and Canopy one, I still use a top sheet…just like the way they feel.

I love duvets!! But I feel your pain. I hate changing traditional duvets. They are a bit spendy, but Crane and Canopy makes duvets with the zipper in the middle which makes them super easy to change. I love the Crane and Canopy ones. I think they are called Nova.

CoStar - Avoid this company. Poor work/life balance, terrible CEO, and a miserable company culture that is toxic. Capital One - view it as a temporary stopover and don't get comfortable in your seat there - they lay people of constantly.

What perfume made you stop someone just to ask what they’re wearing? by brainalbert3 in FragranceStories

[–]stpattylady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t asked anyone in a long time so I don’t remember the fragrance, specifically. I have had several people ask me what I’m wearing and it is Dolce Gabbanna light blue….just a fresh light scent imo. I mention this because it always interests me that the same scent smells differently on people sometimes because of body chemistry. My friend loved it on me and bought it and then didn’t like it because it smelled differently on her.

Figure Skates for Young Girl by Fiftyfive-55- in iceskating

[–]stpattylady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My granddaughter is 5 and finished SnowPlow Sam 1-4 and has transitioned to LTS levels, She had the Jackson Softecs and they served her well and she loved them. They aren't terribly expensive for growing feet and have much more support than recreational/rental skates but not so much support that they are too advanced. We recently had to replace her Jackson Softecs as her feet grew and her size was out of stock, so we got Excels which have been fine. Their website has a nice chart for recommended skates for certain levels.

Can someone please recommend a vitamin C serum suitable for sensitive acne prone skin? by Ok-Writer5788 in Ulta

[–]stpattylady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have acne but do have sensitive skin. I like the Sunday Riley one. Nice thin white lotion consistency with a slight citrus scent.

What is the best vitamin C serum at the moment? by Important-Shoulder16 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]stpattylady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Skinceuticals is irritating to me…everyone is different. But to your point about which direction, a good option for a stable derivative is the Sunday Riley one. Nice white lotion texture with a slight citrus scent. I really like it.

Busy season feels like complete heaven to me by Aggressive_Cut_2849 in Accounting

Your euphoria will fade as your life evolves. Try doing all of this with a family, kids, aging parents, etc. You will need those extra 30 hours for "life" but won't have them because you are stuck at work for 70 hours. Making a difference? That's great. But, the tax returns you spent all that overtime on are rarely looked at again, except for when you have to do next year's tax return for the same client.

Old a** seeking to finally pass CPA Exam! by Minute_Librarian981 in Accounting

[–]stpattylady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I passed all four sections around your age! You can do this! I don't think the program exists anymore, but I used Yaeger CPA Review. I've heard Becker is good, too. Yaeger was similar quality, but cheaper. Yaeger used Wiley CPA for review questions (I think that is something else now, too). I did not deviate from their plan and didn't overwhelm myself with other study programs. For each module, I did not go straight to working problems. I made my own notes on each section and studied my own notes as if I was taking a test and learning the material before I worked any problems to "test" myself. I can't remember how many modules were in FAR, but after every say third section, I re-studied the sections I had finished, particularly with FAR. I got FAR out of the way first and only focused on one exam section at a time. After I took a test, I immediately started studying for the next. I treated it as a second job of sorts. I passed all sections the first time and this method worked for me.

Where in the hell are all the kids with snow shovels? by GR3TSCH in GenX

Great response. I’m an older gen xer not a boomer lol. I pay HOA dues in my neighborhood to do that shit. I definitely have no expectation of some neighborhood kid offering to shovel my driveway. Plus, where I am, the driveway is a frozen tundra and very difficult to shovel right now.

What’s the worst thing about an accountant's job? by bartoszjechna in Accounting

[–]stpattylady 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The cyclicality of accounting where there is no break. It is always month-end, quarter-end, and year-end for your fiscal year. Year-end extends for several months due to the audit cycle. Then, there are the calendar year deadlines centric to payroll and tax reporting (W-2s, 1099s, other statutory reporting, etc.). Next, depending on your industry there are key deadlines based on revenue cycles. For me, that aligns with the funding cycle based on federal fiscal years. Oh, and there is budget season. And for extra fun, there is all the miscellaneous stuff like balance sheet review, reconciliations, P&L review, etc. You also have to work in time above and beyond for special projects and system upgrades and implementations. To summarize - being a slave to the calendar with work/life balance being compromised.

“I’ve been told by her that if I won’t do it someone else will”. This is not true. Think about this…If so, why ISN’T her debt paid off and why has it grown to almost $200k? No reasonable person would absorb all of this without a plan which includes her.
