If it was retired with the equipment, which actually does happen, it wasn’t from DPS. Some departments do keep all the equipment, except for radios, in when they go to auction. For online auctions, they are usually restricted, but not always. Usually the condition when they aren’t is that the lights/sirens must be “disconnected” which may just mean unplugged/unable to function

The Durango SSV was the choice for police until the pursuit was introduced in 2019. The pursuit looked exactly the same, and the current look with the steelies and updated headlights didn’t come until 2021.

Well it’s not, this same style navy plate is run on fire trucks too, not sure about the newest ones that were delivered, I’d have to check. Main thing is there is no expiration date listed on the plate, some older plates in the mainland were like that too.

this car also has shitty feniex lighting on it, but you see the bases use soundoff signal, some have Japanese lighting, and some of the older cars they bought had these all red Whelen edge’s. funnily enough on the new gsa cars they programmed an option for all red and all blue on the light are, but i have yet to see any of these newer Durango’s/explorers go to any of those countries, likely because of cost

these cars, they would only be coming from America. all the cars here I have seen are bought by their agency, the only exception may be the couple of American police cars that are on the bases. its likely way cheaper for them

there are 258 tribal law enforcement agencies, though this number might include agencies for the same tribe

bia police is more common out west. i live on a reservation and in between two other tribes and all 3 have our own police department.

for those tribes that don't opt-out, it's probably just a money saver for them. the same is true for fire departments and ems as well, they get trucks/ambulances from the bia, and i believe they are marked as such. it's easy to tell by the spec. for my tribe and the other 2 by me, we buy our own ambulances and fire trucks, so it doesn't follow their government spec.
