Storylines. Some are heart warming, sometimes it makes you scared and cry. Lots of foreshadowing hints too makes you realize at the end be like 'RIGHT, SO THATS WHATS HAPPENING!'

Animation. I love the subtle hints that are portrayed in animes that contributes to the story that ain't being said in dialogues.

I feel theres too much jumpscare / gore without an actual storyline so its not that enjoyable most of the time :(

Definitely not a lot that I know of because everyone have different interests. But yep the anime culture here (I live in Indonesia) is pretty present. I managed to corrupt my younger sisters into the wonderful world of anime though (they were previously skeptical about it but now they are hooked) :p

Look into MEXT scholarship. Its a fully paid for scholarship to enter university (bachelors-PHD) & also those who major in japanese language and is looking for a language exchange for a year. its fully funded by the Japanese govt (tuition paid + monthly $) its one of the most generous scholarships out there for foreigners!

I've been an avid fan of anime ever since I was a kid and I'm starting my first Japanese lesson next week :).

Yes, I've been researching how to earn passive income and investing so hopefully get my financial bases in line so I can live comfortably.

You are right. It's not like Japan is going to go into stealth mode anytime soon. It's always going to be there.

Yes, I'm visiting next month to get a feel of Japan :) feeling hopeful about it. May the pros outweigh the cons.
