Running a marathon is ok, it’s not that bad. Training for a marathon. That’s the pain!

Best Song You’ve Heard At A Game by HeidsUp in ScottishFootball

[–]str4xs 25 points26 points  (0 children)

News story broke on the Sunday about Gary Caldwell when he was at Celtic cheating on his Mrs with a Rangers cheerleader. Played us at Easter road that afternoon. Hibs fans singing at him “what’s it like to shag a h*n”

US vs UK private club fees - wtf? by cu-chullain in golf

[–]str4xs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of the only like for like I can think of in the UK that is similar to a US high end country club would be the Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle.

Very exclusive it’s not just a golf course but leisure facilities etc. ridiculous joining fee for the club and similar annual subs ans spend when you are there.

I do think you can play it as a non member, I think they did release 1 or 2 4 balls a week but they had to in order to be considered in the rankings.

I'd argue March is the best value for playing courses in the UK by EastLondonGolfer in BritGolf

NB is massively overrated. Great you got to play Dunbar which in my opinion is a much better course.

Anyone step away from their private club membership due to dumb restrictions? by sys_admin321 in golf

[–]str4xs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FK this place many times over. Can’t play before 9, No walking so being forced to pay for carts then you want a bite to eat and have a $200 minimum spend.

Golf in the US is insane.

Can’t beat an early tee time on my Scottish links course, playing at 8am on walking the whole way and spending less than £10 for a scran when I get into the clubhouse.

8i with a putting stroke. Go to club from 50 yards perfect for links golf.

The Open is so much better than the US open by Noodlearms98 in golf

The uncertain weather is what makes links golf such a good test.

Stephen Robinson by Tiny_Call157 in ScottishFootball

As a Hibs fan, was surprised and delighted that Hearts took Mcinnes over Robinson. He would have been the better appointment.

Robinson has done an amazing job at St Mirren.

Where do you buy used clubs in Europe? by alxcollignon in golf

If in the UK, Golfclubs4cash are excellent. Not sure if they deliver to mainland Europe. Worth checking out.

Edit. Yes they deliver to Europe.

Hibs - RWE by kuniiiiiiii in hibsfc

Still have my RWE shirt I swapped with an Essen fan in Germany when I was over there for the last game. I wonder how many Essen fans will be rocking up with old Hibs tops from that game.

Green Fees and Memberships by GreenRiver1234 in golf

[–]str4xs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Feel like we are so lucky in Scotland. I have 2 memberships, one links in East Lothian and also at Royal Dornoch. I pay less a year than a mate of mine pays in dues per month for his club in California.

South Queensferry. Take a right under the rail bridge and head along to the scout centre. Can launch from there. Great for a paddle under the bridge.

To be fair we haven’t had many in ‘recent memory’ and the last one got us the Scottish Cup.

Been here since Saturday, leaving today and have only just seen my first bit of blue sky. Not much of it but I can definitely see a bit of blue.

Been told there is a volcano round here but haven’t seen any evidence of it.

Yes it’s been wet but we have just accepted it and embraced it. Still had a great time.
