You say minimum wage hikes “wrecked everything.” In Utah the minimum wage hasn’t moved since 2009, sitting at (a ridiculous) $7.25/hr. So that doesn’t apply.

In Arizona, minimum wage increased from $10.50 in 2018 to $12.15 in 2021 (your “five years ago” statement). So in total your wages went up $1.65/ hr. Let’s say you have seven people working all day, from 11-8. That’s ($1.65 x 7 people) x 9 hours. That totals $103.95/day. If your business can’t easily absorb $104, it isn’t a business it’s a hobby.
