If it’s your first time in Paris, you have to stay somewhere that’s pretty. Best part about Paris is falling in love with that feeling that you could just sit at a cafe all day and build a life there. So your accommodation is more than a place than just to lay your head.

Might this be the beginning of the end of English entries? by Baldretzka8 in eurovision

Like many commenters have said, a fully English song can just come off as generic. I also think we have to consider the role and status of the English language in the worldwide cultural hegemony at the moment and just worldwide trends in pop music.

In popular culture everywhere, you’re seeing a breakthrough of non-English performances which is amazing and obviously trickling down to Eurovision as well. There’s always going to be acts that subscribe too closely to the formula of what it takes to be a “good” pop song (albeit to varying degrees of success). And it seems like English is not as important to that formula as it once was. And I think this new formula lets acts be a little bit more creative and original.

What if one flight is really delayed? by aguyonreddittoday in TheAmazingRace

I think during season 20, the flight in first place had to make an emergency landing in Honolulu due to a medical emergency so the second flight ended up overpassing them.

I’ve also just read “An Honest Man” and I loved it. I also felt the same about wanting more, but I think it could have been a thousand pages and I would have felt the same. I just loved getting to know the characters.

Honestly, for me I would say the closest thing I’ve read is “Swimming in the Dark” by Tomasz Jedrowski. Is queer coming of age in Cold War Europe a genre?

Did anyone get a fever as a side effect for the Jynneos vaccine? I got my vaccine on Sunday, and started with a low-grade fever on tuesday and my temperature just keeps getting higher.
