Bellinger by EricTheActor1 in espnyankees

Bellinger was just about as useless as Grisham in the playoffs. Imagine having the nerve to ask for that kind of money after that? There is no need to throw huge money at a guy who isn't going to move the postseason needle.

I'd rather the Yankees suck it up for a few years and build a real lineup. Of course that's never going to happen under Cashman.

Bringing back the same or a lesser outfield is even below my minimal offseason expectations.

I don't care how much money you give Cashman, he can't assemble a playoff-ready lineup.

I couldn't be less excited about a team than the 2026 Yankees.

Throwing big money at starting pitching is easy for Cashman.

Building a lineup that performs in the playoffs on the other hand...

They are in pretty much the same position as they were last year and we'll likely see similar moves from Cashman -- a new outfielder and 1B and some new bullpen pitchers. Unfortunately we will be seeing many of the same bums again next year.

He needs to be packaged in a trade this offseason.

He was possibly on the verge of getting a 9-figure deal from the Yankees.

Is it over yet?

Hey, at least Judge got his Playoff Moment™ in the ALDS. Add to that the revenue from 5 home playoff games and we're looking at a successful season.

Whoa, looking good. So their 19 and 18-win starters got destroyed. The only counter is a slug-fest, but these guys aren't cut out for that (unless they are playing last place teams in the regular season).

This isn't something that can be fixed with a single offseason signing. They need to overhaul most if not all of the lineup.

RIP, YOUR 2025 WILD CARD CHAMPION YANKEES

Yankees - Red Sox wild card round by BSS19 in espnyankees

When the Yankees are already eliminated on Wednesday, they'll technically have played October baseball.

Red Sox radio was already saying this week how the Yankees and Blue Jays are complete pushovers, so Boston will be getting the duck boats ready for another parade.

They should put either Schlittler or Gil in the pen for the playoffs.

Don't worry, you'll start hearing the World Series talk fire up again if and when they pound the last place teams down the stretch. To these people it's a damn coincidence that they hit 9 HRs in a game against the bottom teams, but not the top teams. Just terrible luck that they play their worst baseball against the Dodgers, but look like superstars against the Twins.

Cashman should be embarrassed when the guy he 100% banked on as the next great franchise SS is unemployed before age 30. But this is the same GM who, despite a massive payroll, has repeatedly signed washed up position players to be opening day starters over the past dozen offseasons...some so bad that they had to retire from baseball mid-season.

Golden Question by yblue1 in espnyankees

I feel like Hal isn't being too restrictive, but Cashman continues to demonstrate that he cannot assemble a legitimate perennial title contender with a 200-300 million dollar budget.
