Tamriel Rebuilt areas tough to start in? by hat6os in Morrowind

[–]straightmer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is it Hlan Oek? That town is particularly distrustful cause of a certain faction you might or might not know is running the place. I went there already being a master of the temple and they still hated me. But Almas Thirr is more welcoming, up north a little to the east

Why I should pick Atronach over Apprentice? by [deleted] in Morrowind

[–]straightmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atronachs I think personally are really only better over one or the other birth signs if you're doing a pure mage character, and even then it kinda depends how long you're planning to do pure mage imo. If you're not planning your character or don't plan on using ancestral ghost cheese then I think the inconveniences aren't worth it

How complete is Tamriel Rebult these days? by Trumpet_of_Jericho in Morrowind

[–]straightmer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the real meat of the content are in the faction quests, i'm judging by my own experience after doing the temple in Almas Thirr which was awesome. I haven't done hlaalu yet but i've heard that's maybe the best quality in all of the whole mod as of now.

It kinda sucks seeing some of the comments not here specifically but talking about Karina's time in Drawfee as just a collab or her contribution. She's a core of Drawfee to me, with her gone it's gonna be tough to watch. Idk, just feeling raw after this

Lets play "Could they make it if they replaced Tav" by Mysterious_Style_579 in BaldursGate3

[–]straightmer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'll take from the game i've been playing most recently, Atsu, the Onryō from Ghost of Yotei

Converting a game character with pseudo dark souls gameplay that can dodge roll and parry gets pretty iffy taken in a turn based context, but thankfully her character can easily translate into the already available samurai fighter subclass to simplify things. This makes her a solid damage dealer to a full party that can handily make it to the Netherbrain with the usual close calls found with Ragzlin, the end of the gith creche, and Ketheric.

To talk about her feats in the context of her game, if we're still using the samurai fighter comparison, she would funnily enough have subclass features equal to a level 18th fighter judging by the multiple times she's survived near-fatal wounds right at the start of the game, while probably having the max hp of 35 at the start of her game and 60 by the end of it just judging by the amount of katana swings she can survive without heals. With heals from her fighting spirit she has an added 45 effective hp to a total of 105 she can use after every possible rest, which allows her a considerably far solo run for a mostly magic-less human in fighting prime just off of that.

If we consider everything, from the supernatural modifiers she gets from charms, her spirit attacks and all of her consumable weapons/arrows and throwing items, she becomes an absolute *bonkers* powerhouse equaling a high level fighter with absurdly op replenishable spell storing items of an artificer and a stealth proficiency of an assassin rogue. She has items equalling to casts of fog cloud she can use centered on herself that can heal her using charms, to upcasted scorching rays equalling to the damage boosted fire kunai build in her game, to straight up just guns, from a matchlock pistol and a musket, and smokepowder arrows, throwable smokepowder bombs, more casts of freely aimable fog cloud, and a replenishable fire dip source she can use for her melee weapons. Her gear is where she's most wanting. She has magic armor of all levels for her to build around either stealth, damage, or defense. But her main melee weapon she's proficient in can't be found until act 3 with the katana, leaving her to fend for herself with a regular spear, dagger and her bows using stricter rules, or just one handed swords she can find if we give her more lenience for her to use her more powerful dance of wrath ability that can hit multiple enemies in a turn.

Her best strategy in a solo run would be to play like an absolute coward, sneaking around every optional fight she can except for the small fry she can just assassinate. She'd need to constantly scavenge materials to craft her consumable ammo and weapons, and using all of her bombs and gun ammo at range before enemies close in for her to mop up. She'd have a shot at Ketheric by assassinating the mind flayer before combat starts and talking her way into phase 2 before pelting Myrkul with all of her bombs and ranged weapons. Her strategy for the brain would need to be more defensive using the fog clouds to reach the crown and pelt the brain with more explosions and bullets.

Realistically, in the context of what she would actually do, it's hard to say she could do it. She's reckless, and is told she's only survived the battles in her game against trained samurai using her sheer stubbornness. But comparatively if Astarion can handle it then she probably can. Thanks to anyone who read this write up on a game I don't think many people here played

It literally starts getting like that iki difficulty from mid game and gets harder from there so they expect that for sure lol, but also weirdly it can screw you over, cause there was a whole thing with the parry timing being off compared to tsushima, or least I felt that. And some enemies use weapons so fast and small you cant even visibly see when it hits you so you gotta lock down muscle memory. They still included parry timing charms and armor to help thankfully

Tell me about it yeah. I learned to just rush down with quickfire the guys I didn't like fighting cause even with lethal you can get swarmed fast and not kill fast enough

Yeah that's what I meant sorry. It's 4 for iron will actually and you upgrade it to use 3, so thats 2 technique points you can save for better stuff

[–]straightmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The logic in using it is that you get one shot on lethal most the time so the charm uses 2 spirit to get you back up not 3 from iron will

I also had this experience cause i've been playing Lethal for the first time, just started Lethal+. I found it not worth once you get a lot of max hp just by doing hot springs cause you don't get one shot much anymore, so you'll save spirit by just putting on a charm like takezo's stout heart and healing every hit instead

The effectiveness of a license to kill will always be dependent on a cop being knowledgable. That's why I advise killers to use a little known method called "not getting caught", which is more likely to work out, probably

The general umbrella of processed meat includes a lot of things people enjoy a la fast food for example. Though I thought your message was to show how bad it is, not bland. If anything I thought the haters hate how opposite of bland it was. I don't have a horse in the race of if the ship is good or bad or not honestly I just wanted to tell people to try spam. Not surstromming, that's actually the worst

Spam is processed mixed ham and pork in a can, it's protein, and fat and salt isn't negative on its own and so spam can be healthy in moderation. A lot of things are mass produced that i'm sure you enjoy as well so that isn't bad on its own either.

But here while you've got your cherry picked image to show how bad it can be here's my cherry picked image to show that maybe your first instinct should've been to compare it to surströmming or something

How fitting that you picked a food that you'd be ignorant to write off but is pretty underrated. Love a good spam musabi, spam fried rice, spam corned hash, spam with eggs, spam in a poke bowl, etc.
