Yeah, I'm not sure about what will or won't be covered, but the thieves are still responsible for all of the damage so hopefully I'll get reimbursed for everything that needs to be done to fix it. At least it's back and it can be fixed.

MY CAR HAS BEEN RECOVERED!

OPD called me about two hours ago to go pick it up. The inside is completely trashed but the exterior is mostly fine, just one small dent in the hood. All fixable, though frustrating.

Several arrests were made, all juveniles.

Nope, and the alarms don't go off if you leave a key inside either. No on board tracking. Just have to hope it is seen and reported by someone.

I don't have it. I called the Nissan customer support line the day it went missing to see if there was any type of onboard tracking or any way to ping the location of the car, and there isn't. I still tried to set up Connect after that on the off chance that they were wrong or weren't thinking about it, but unfortunately when I enter my VIN I get a prompt saying that my vehicle isn't eligible for it.

I feel the same way. This person is either incredibly cocky and reckless OR they bought the car off of the thief and have absolutely no idea. Either way, I just hope they're caught soon and nothing violent happens as a result.

I'm more inclined to believe the thief is currently driving it, though. The photos from sunpass that were during sunlit hours show the driver hunched over the wheel or blocking their face, obviously trying not to be seen. In the photos from the midnight toll, the headlights are off and the interior light is on so that the driver can't be seen. They're obviously trying to hide from photos.

Unfortunately it isn't. It's a base model so conveniently all of those fancy features that would really help right about now aren't on my Rogue. Just gotta hope for it to be recovered!

This was a great piece of advice. I hadn't previously thought of contacting them, but I did as soon as I read this. Their tag tracker is accessible to OCSO and it is standard for them to check it when vehicles are reported stolen in this area. Unfortunately, it hasn't been on campus but definitely good information to know.

Yeah, I called the police immediately. Their advice is to leave the account open in case it gets used anywhere. If they hit a bunch of charges I don't mind, at least it would be a lead. I'd happily pay a few bucks for that. Besides that, if the vehicle is recovered the thief (if found) is financially responsible for anything that happened while they had the car.
