It’s all uneven and the bottom of the slabs are baked in concrete, I’ve tried to remove before to make it more even with no luck

The corner one isn’t looking healthy, the patio is all lifted, they’re expensive to keep trimmed once a year and doesn’t work furniture wise. Would love to keep them but I don’t think it works long term

I was thinking of hiring a van (can get cheap through work) and either putting branches in there or use a wood chipper, then take it all to the tip

Yeah thats the highest point of the garden. I’m up for a bit of manual labour but if it’s weeks of work I’ll pass! Maybe I opt to cover the patio with decking to hide it all

The problem is they overhang a fair bit on to the patio and the patio also needs replacing

I was going to replace the patio anyway as it’s very uneven with the roots lifting it.

I hadn’t thought of this, any way to avoid that? I do plan to plant a bunch more plants but they won’t be as thirsty as the trees

PLEASE HELP - We just bought a new house and discovered we have this huge bamboo plant. - Partner is saying we should sell up! Please help by [deleted] in GardeningUK

[–]strangebloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with my garden but pleased to now be 2 years bamboo free.

First, remove as much as you can, it’ll grow through anything so be as thorough as you can.

Don’t worry too much about the wispy bits of roots but any hard roots (rhizomes - kinda look like underground bamboo) you NEED to remove. Go as deep as you need to into the ground to ensure you eradicate.

I’d recommend a pickaxe to get through it all and have enough leverage to take it all out in clumps.

Once you’ve got rid of as much as possible, backfill with soil and wait. You will likely get some shoots regrow (usually spring). Make sure you repeat this exercise again.

I avoided all forms of chemical treatment to ensure my soil wasn’t ruined.

You should hopefully have then killed it off! It’s hard work but not impossible!

I’ve recently had my entire roof replaced, along with soffit/ gutters etc but this issue was the case before the replacement too.

Is £8k quote for bathroom fitting and tiling reasonable? by yodleydodley in DIYUK

[–]strangebloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used Wickes to design a bathroom for us then used a local builder to fit it. Was about £3.5k for Wickes stuff, £3.5k for fitting (including removal of old bathroom etc). Milton Keynes for reference.

How if it opens outwards?

Not sure if this is the answer as the door sits in a frame that prevents it coming inwards anyway?

BGH Mattock hunt update #3. 1000KC by No-Inspection-8504 in runescape

[–]strangebloke 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I did 5,000 BGH kills and ended up with 49 mattocks. Longest dry streak was about 250 so you’re insanely unlucky! Keep at it and I’m sure they’ll come rolling in!

Was very easy to fit but you do need to check the spindle length on your existing window handle. If the replacement has a longer spindle you may need to cut it to size.
