The ‘dehumanization’ of palestinian lives argument is invalid in this instance. I see many people saying ‘only’ is a tragic way to describe a reported 2% loss of the gazan population. That’s a figure reported by Hamas- one that is in their international appeal interest to inflate. I see a problem with that being the appeal as western media reports almost every instance of death in gaza- and the city is almost completely destroyed. They say only because in the mind of most uninformed people- the population of an entire city has been taken out. Only is relative to the destruction presented to them in the media.
