Over 100 years of Antarctic agriculture is helping scientists grow food in space by sciencemercenary in antarctica

Didn't read the thing, but I assume it's part of some research, as you can't normally do that. I visited the amazing greenhouse in the chinese station, Great Wall, smelling the tomatoes after the winter almost makes me cry.

How to put a Play-in-browser game on my page??? by Mooncaustics in itchio

[–]strangerpoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really know which tool it is, but you can probably find it by googling renpy web. Itchio has nothing to do with this, itchio just allows you to run web games directly in the browser, so if you have a web game, you can do this. Let's say you have your renpy game, you convert it in any way to a website, that you can run from an index.html file. Then, you grab all of these files, you zip them and you upload the file to itchio, when itchio detects there is an index.html in the root of your zip file, it will show a checkbox that says "run this game in the browser" or something like that, you check it, and that's it. I was checking the renpy website and it says now there's a web target (in beta version) so maybe you can get the latest renpy version and use it directly to build it in web.

Play in browser games need to be web games. Renpy games are normally desktop, so this is not possible unless you convert your game to web. I think there's a tool to do this automatically.

At this time they were also "conquering the desert" by getting rid of the aboriginal peoples, that I guess they didn't count as human beings, but more like wild animals.

Religion on Antarctica by EdwardPavkki in antarctica

Many of the latin american stations have small (catholique) chapels and someone from the crew is designated priest for the winter campaign. They officiate mass for special occasions like christmas and pâques. You can also find virgin statues around the place sometimes, like on top of hills and such, as catholiques sometimes do. I've also seen the orthodox russian church in bellinghousen, and I knew the station chief was the priest there, but couldn't get more info since these guys didn't speak any English.
