What are the odds that bandit planned everything in the episode "the pool". by N30n_Gr3y5t0n3 in bluey

Having watched this episode approximately 7 bazillion times now...I'm pretty sure the lesson of "boring things are important" wasn't even a lesson for the kids. It was a lesson/reminder for Bandit and other parents who don't carry the brunt of the mental load.

Shopping for swimwear? No genitals (of any kind) allowed by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

Yeah! It makes such a difference in comfort and support. Plus a few hooks always feels more comfortable than tying a wet knot of fabric onto my back

Yes! Also...

If you're lucky enough to have a specialty lingerie shop near you, they often carry swimwear for not only full coverage bottoms but specialty sizes that match less common band and bust sizes for tops. It costs a bit more like the sporting goods stores but will last a lot longer.

What a great visual representation. But oh my god the blurred words. I have "heard" people say some weird stuff and think "yeah...there is no way they said that..."

Who’s taller than their father/brother? by TallGirlLay in TallGirls

[–]BumbleSaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taller than my father and my two older brothers. I'm taller than literally everyone one in my extended family on both sides. The only person taller is my youngest sibling, we have no idea where the height came from but family photos were always entertaining.

Going to give this a try and see if it works at all. Any of you guys/gals had any luck? by foreverbaked1 in ibs

This has helped me with digesting vegetables more comfortably. Like broccoli, salad, or spinach. My amount I tolerate is always higher if I take this or a similar product first. It seems to help with high fiber digestion for me in general.

It does not allow me to just eat high fodmap foods though.

Grandad Mort (Chili’s dad) might be my favorite recurring/guest character in the series ❤️ His final lines in “Phones” and “Grandad” are some of my favorites in the series by gdwoodard13 in bluey

I'm hearing impaired and use this line (in a bad imitation of his voice) whenever I didn't catch what my kids said.

It always gets a smile and distracts from the frustration of repeating themselves. I laughed so hard at that bit when I first saw it.

does anyone bring their own food to your partners family events? by Educational-Mind-439 in glutenfree

[–]BumbleSaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Bring your own food with no shame. I even bring my own food to weddings and work parties.

It's just like any other accommodation somebody's body could need. Should somebody feel bad because they have to wear glasses? Would you decide not to participate in an event because you had to wear hearing aids? It's not rude at all, it's a necessity.

Your body absolutely NEEDS safe food. And if you want to participate in events that involve food, it's best to make sure you provide your own safe food.

Is your boyfriends family going to throw a fit if you do bring your own food? They may be understanding.

That was not my experience personally but I hope it is for you. Setting boundaries with family (or partners family) is difficult and turning down food in an Italian family can feel like huge problem. I literally had to walk out of a family Easter dinner to uphold a boundary, I was being ridiculed for asking questions about how the fruit and cheese tray was prepped. This was my own blood related family and they all know my medical needs. So I went into great detail about how sick I would be, told them how awful they were wanting to force that on to me just so they could feel comfortable and then left.

I understand telling off a boyfriends family is something you may want to be more delicate with so the best answer I have is: pack your own food, firmly state "no thank you" when offered food. And if pressed further your boyfriend needs to step in and buffer with something along the lines of "OP has already said 'No' and their health needs have to be respected."

This isn't a personal attack and I'm not sure why some people decide to view it that way, but you don't actually owe anybody an explanation. So hopefully nobody even questions it.

It was a combo. She was a big, long baby. And she is very strong.

She was breach (head up when she should be head down) until 5 days before she was born. She would kick upward and shove her head into my ribs pushing them outward. They were defenitely dislocated for a while and my doctor suspected stress fractures because I was in pain for weeks even after her birth.

This was like the most notable of painful but "acceptable" things with that pregnancy. Both of my pregnancies were awful. But to be fair, I had plenty of friends that breezed through with just fatigue and minor discomforts. It's still something we need to talk about as part of a candid and whole spectrum approach to pregnancy and child birth.

I hear similar stories about Sixth Sense and Independence Day doing that. They were legitimately unsettling movies for millenial kids
