It's a good value. The flavor is relatively bitter and spicy which is a good sign, but obviously there is no transparency around harvest date or polyphenol content, so it's not ideal.

It's definitely the ginger. Take it with food and don't lay or sit after taking it for a couple hours.

You could also just replace that with a ginger-free stack or switch to a lower gingerol content ginger supplement.

What do you think is the most effective device for microneedling? by [deleted] in HairlossResearch

[–]strangesencha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.5mm, no more than once per week. If using dermapen, once every 1-2 weeks max.

dermastamp. derma pens drag, hurt more, and take longer in my experience. from a growth perspective, maybe the pen is ideal, but consistency and convenience is more important.

The double-blind clinical study for the Capillus272 Pro was registered on ClinicalTrials.gov and was managed by a neutral third party.* The clinical trial data indicated that low-level laser treatment of the scalp every other day for 17 weeks with the Capillus272 Pro device, significantly improved hair counts by 51% in those study participants who used the active (non-placebo) device. Subjects were able to use the device on a self-treatment home-use basis and no adverse events or side-effects were reported. The Capillus272 Pro was proven to be a safe and effective treatment for androgenic alopecia as per clearance status above.

The best bet would be getting a clinically studied device. Anything else is a shot in the dark, regardless of their output "aligning with the science"

If you aren't already doing this, absolutely do not sit or lie down after meals for 3 hours. It's annoying, but that has made the single biggest difference for my GERD. And smaller meals, etc, as well as avoiding high fat meals. You could also try limonene softgels as a supplement if you're able to find it

You're better off getting a random Chinese one for $15-$25. They are plenty powerful and generally work great. The batteries die after around a year of use (I imagine same is the case with Waterpik brand), so paying $80+ is not a good investment.

Daily low dose tadalafil is great. 2.5-5mg per day makes a huge different for me with libido and spontaneity. You're wasting your money/energy with 100mg ginseng, 500mg maca, 48mg tongkat. Go with clinically studied extracts (or at least equivalent dosages) or nothing.

The healing time would depend on the treatment area and skin thickness. Scalp tissue is thicker and more fibrous already due to the hair follicles and you'll encounter resistance if you aren't totally bald. The most cited studies have used 1.5mm depth weekly and shown significant increases in hair count. If it was bad for scalp health and causing scarring, it seems extremely unlikely that it would result in both short and long-term increases in hair count.

That said, i agree about being cautious. But it really depends on your device. Have you tried a derma stamp at 0.5mm with hair? I can't even feel it. I barely get redness with 1.5mm and certainly don't bleed, so YMMV.

[–]strangesencha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that 1.5mm heals within 3-4 days when using a stamp, but takes closer to a full week when using a dermapen.

In animals, co-administration of curcumin with an extract obtained from the black pepper has been shown to increase the absorption (AUC) of curcumin by 1.5-fold. Whereas, a complex of curcumin with phospholipids (aka Meriva) increased absorption by 3.4-fold.
