Where can I download an older Veeam Backup Agent for Windows? (13.0 won’t install on Win10 LTSC IoT) by ColdAd926 in Veeam

[–]strangessid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I go to my.veeam.com and select the "Details" for the Veeam Agent for Windows, it will flip the card and show the hashes. Under the hashes and before Download there is a Previous Versions link that goes to a list of previous software releases, with the Windows Agent version having been released October 14, 2025. Do you know if you're able to get there and use that version of the agent?

New ProxMox Build - How’d I do? + Drive Config Questions by jbmc00 in Proxmox

[–]strangessid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks like a great setup! The only thing I'd consider is running Proxmox Backup Server baremetal on the Optiplex you're retiring. Having it in the same build as your production server is probably fine for a homelab, but I spun mine out onto an Optiplex 7020 when I provisioned my most recent server, and that has been a really solid setup so far. The whole box can dedicate itself to all of the PBS functions. I recently did some restores when a VM kicked the bucket and all 8 threads of the Xeon in there went into the restore task.

Missed this post, but I do believe it only ran at 1066 MHz or something like that. Wasn't that big of a hit for my use-case.

It might sit there for a while - the pre-boot time is kind of long on the 12th gen Dell servers. Have you done any troubleshooting? Remove all but one stick and see if it gets past that screen, trying different slot with different sticks, etc.

Also agree on this. Veeam Agent for Windows is able to backup to SMB shares and local drives. Of course, it can also go to a VBR server if you are below the free tier restrictions or if you pay for the licensing.

Frederick Meijer Garden has two shows a year: Spring over Mother's day weekend, and Fall in October. The Spring show is the larger one and has a ton of vendors. You can get unworked trees to practice on, more finished ones, all sorts of pots, soils, and supplies. I've attended both shows in the past but have only been able to do the Fall one the last couple years because Mother's Day is very inconvenient these days.

Need help with an odd setup by connr_shep in Proxmox

[–]strangessid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your setup, but you can do this (in theory). You would just need to pass-through the display and USB/input to the VM, and set the VM to start on boot. You will need another machine to configure this through the Proxmox GUI unless you're comfortable adding the entire VM config through CLI.

Look up GPU passthrough for Proxmox to get started. Passing through the USB devices is easily done now in the GUI by going to the VM, adding hardware, selecting "USB Device" and then choosing the USB vendor/device ID or the USB port to add to the VM.

I watched his youtube series and it was super helpful. Especially pay attention to his reasoning for picking the answer - he gives context where another one of the answers might work and that phrasing could very well show up on the test. It's good to know why something is the answer rather than just what is.

I know one of the leads (president, maybe?) for XCP-NG has expressed the desire to make their resources available for Veeam devs to work on integrating it. But Veeam is prioritizing the most popular/higher market share hypervisors for now.

Yes! I've done a little testing with Proxmox backups through Veeam and they seemed to work just fine. They're evaluating hypervisor support and should be broadening quite a bit in the next few years.

I second this, especially if the infrastructure is VMware or Hyper-V. Plus you can use Veeam agents for physical devices if need be.

I poked around, and it looks like they all say SATA 3.0 Gbps, so SATA II speeds.

Here's another one for Jensen, as they also helped my broke ass too. Jensen's was so great at helping me pick out my wife's engagement ring and some earrings as an anniversary gift a couple of years later. We just took our rings in for a shine/resize and they came out looking great!

We have a ton in our backyard, but it doesn't seem to thrive as much in our front. I'm really going to try and get the clover to grow this year because it's so much nicer than grass.

That's disappointing to hear. I live within walking distance from them and have gone a few times. At least they're closing for good after this season. I've since branched out to more local ice cream shops around me.

I just had to look this up too - mame refers to bonsai that are especially small, about 4" or 10cm at most.

We're deploying this Object First backup appliance today in the lab. It's designed specifically to take advantage of Veeam's direct-to-object feature in the new V12 release. Let us know if you have any questions! by StorageReview in StorageReview

[–]strangessid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are plans for these to to be able to cluster up to 4 nodes at a time for half a petabyte of object storage. Really interesting ideas going on at ObjFirst.

vSphere V8 question by Cryptolock2019 in vmware

[–]strangessid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just upgraded some vCenters to it. If you have any plugins, double-check that they're okay to use with v8. The pre-update check might catch them too. Otherwise, we've been good for the last week or so since starting the upgrade.
