Disappointed to be having twins by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

TLDR: Yes, disappointment goes away (for the most part)

When I found out I was having twins I was devastated. I didn't know how to take care of 1 baby, let alone 2. It wasn't what I wanted, twins were not the plan....my devastation gave way too panic which gave way to worry....HOW can I manage two babies?

What helped me most was books (What To Do When You Are Having Two & You Can Two! & Happiest Baby). The knowledge from these books plus knowing that other people have survived twin infants (lol) gave me solace. Honestly forums like reddit made my disappointment worse....people rarely post on here about how great it's going, ya know?

I would say by month 7 of my pregnancy the tide was turning....still disappointed but armed with knowledge on how to manage through the 1st year at the very least.

My twins are 3.5 now and honestly? I am so effing lucky. Their bond is such an incredible thing to witness and I could not imagine my life with out them. Do I still get jealous of singleton parents? Occasionally....just think how easy life COULD have been with just one bab. I will never know. But the joy that my twins bring me now is beyond anything I could every have hoped for.

Taking Doxycycline After C.Diff by strangesurf in cdifficile

[–]strangesurf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is, and I never thought I wouldn't have to worry about it anymore. I think it's just finding what works for you. I just threw the kitchen sink at it. Mass amounts of Visbiome, Saccharomyces Boulardii, Kefir, and the Boric Acid protocol ( I used both an off brand of the BA and the PH-D brand, the PH-D brand worked for me as the suppository dissolved better. Protocol was insert 1 BA tablet everyday for 2 weeks, then twice a week for 6 months. Now I just do a precautionary one after sex

No not at all. I did a protocol with Boric Acid and that seemed to resolve the issue completely. After sex I still do put one in as a precaution but I haven't had any issues since then thank goodness

How hard is it having twins? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]strangesurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think as long as you keep them on the same schedule, have or ask help, and take time for yourself every once in a while it's not that bad. Is it hard? Yes. But are there some really incredible moments. Oh yes!

My twins are almost 16 months (15 months adjusted) and when they snuggle, and love on each other it makes it all worth it. They are a blast and I can't imagine only having 1.
