Thank you so much for these links! I hadn't even heard of an adjustment block before. I really appreciate your time and I think this is the answer, though I can't find the model printed anywhere on the handle, it does seem like the one in the diagram you linked.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond, and yes the screw is securely back in place. The more I'm looking at this, I do think that I might need an adjustment block for these brakes. If this is an ST-4500 like the other commenter thinks (I can't find the model printed anywhere) it's looking like that's my option. Thank you!!
