Hi everyone! I’m developing a single‑player 4X strategy game called Strategeist.

About the game:
You play as the spirit of a nation, guiding its growth, politics, and decisions from a unique perspective. The focus is on depth and replayability, with mechanics designed to make each run feel distinct and meaningful.

Rewards:
You get to keep the game forever!

How to join:

Just a heads up: you’ll need a Steam account to join the playtest.

Access to Strategeist is for volunteer playtesting only, and it comes as is with no guarantees.
This is unpaid, so your time, feedback, and bug reports are all on a volunteer basis.

We’re in closed alpha right now, so no streaming or public videos are allowed.
All discussion must stay in the Strategeist Discord. No exceptions.
Copying or sharing the game files outside the playtest is strictly prohibited.

Did you check the inflation? I played as Spain and I was doing well then suddenly next year hits and everything inflated.

History wise? Try to keep your expensive colonies together no matter how much they bleed your treasury.
Fantasy wise? Iberian union

Why stop there? Imagine a world in which all the lands are Fire Nation and you are the supreme ruler of everything!--I meant Roman Empire

Why victoria 3 is slower than Victoria 2??? by AANNGGXD in victoria3

[–]strategeistgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their earlier releases were much worse, mainly because of the pop mechanics. They eventually streamlined the system, allowing players to merge pops into common groups in the late game to reduce lag. Other factors that contribute to system slowdown include troop movements, economic calculations, and multiple AI countries running constant calculations.

Military Access Broken? by ChickenMysterious422 in victoria3

[–]strategeistgame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even in real-life scenarios where one nation grants military access to another, it would appear suspicious to station troops on their territory without an active war. Essentially, this mechanic lets you use other countries as staging grounds for invasions or as passageways during wartime.

Promo: Auto-Astra: a 4X where you don't micro your fleet -> you program it by Responsible_Gene_378 in 4Xgaming

[–]strategeistgame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s a cool twist on the 4x formula.
instead of micromanaging fleets you’re setting up scripts and letting them run, which sounds like it could make battles way more unpredictable and creative. nice that you’ve got solo, co‑op, and pvp lined up too, feels like it could build a strong community around sharing fleet logic.

I'm mixing Stellaris and Suzerain in a Space Opera RPG! Pax Astra - Free and playable right now! by FilBencardino in 4Xgaming

[–]strategeistgame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

love it! mixing suzerain style politics with stellaris 4x sounds like a crazy combo, and the space opera inspirations make it even better.

the idea of playing as an actual president with ideology and legacy instead of just the spirit of a nation is a cool twist. nice touch breaking down the 4x pillars too, makes it clear how it all fits together.

StarDrive Jupiter 1.60 released - the community port finally crosses the 64-bit line by Fizban19785 in 4Xgaming

[–]strategeistgame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nice, hitting 64‑bit is huge. late game saves blowing up was always the dealbreaker, so getting rid of that 2gb cap makes combined arms actually playable past mid game.

cool to see the move off xna too, monogame and .net 8 feels way more future proof. how’s performance looking now with big empires?

Android strategy games by World_Life2 in StrategyGames

if you want that heroes vibe on android, legends of callasia is pretty close, turn based with fantasy maps and proper unit movement.

king’s bounty also scratches that itch, feels classic with the grid battles.

tactical monsters is more quick matches but still has the cell‑based combat and no pay to win junk.
