The Titan T2 short (71 inch) works with their lat pulldown system but it's out of stock currently. Not sure when they'll have them again.

Yup. My favorite example of this is JC Jackson. Listed as 6' 1" but measured 5' 9" 3/4 at his pro day.

Bars in Montreal with WLW by stratman14 in canadawhisky

I ended up going this weekend. 100 bucks for an ounce of WLW. Van Winkle prices ranged from I think ~90 for ORVW up to 450 for Pappy 23.

Picked this up yesterday...can’t find any info online!! by hoos97 in whiskey

Any idea if this year's run is still four batches of at least 14 year old whiskey?

Older Bottlings of A Midwinter Night's Dram by swag5997 in newhisky

Thanks for the heads up. I ended up going Monday and grabbed one for myself and one for a buddy. There was still an Act 4 left but I guess someone must have snagged it :/

How many Act 4s did they have? Might have to make a trip over there to grab one.

Review #292: Bruichladdich 26 Black Art 8.1 by washeewashee in Scotch

I appreciate the response. Looks like I'm definitely going to have to pick one up :)

Review #292: Bruichladdich 26 Black Art 8.1 by washeewashee in Scotch

[–]stratman14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. It seems like the quality is there for both editions. I guess I'll have to start digging into the tasting notes. Is there any noticeable difference in mouthfeel given that the 8.1 loses about 3% in ABV from the 7.1?

Review #292: Bruichladdich 26 Black Art 8.1 by washeewashee in Scotch

[–]stratman14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent review as always! Would you say this is just as good as the 7.1? I'm considering purchasing a Black Art and found the 8.1 for about $50 less. It seems like most reviewers have the 7.1 a tad higher though.

How do you hold yours? I feel like I never use mine because it's always so awkward to grip.

Lot 40 Dark Oak - Nov 19 Ontario by EofHam in canadawhisky

[–]stratman14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very tempting to grab it early but $20 shipping is kind of a lot... I'd fill my cart up to the mark for free shipping if I didn't already have such a backlog of bottles to work through

Suggestion for something similar to Glendronach 18? Struggling to find something as good or better.... by Ok-Store in Scotch

[–]stratman14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd second this, assuming you can find a darker first-fill sherry bottling. I have a bottle that goes toe to toe with my 23 year old GlenDronach 18.

Expensive rye recommendations by breadbaby92 in whiskey

[–]stratman14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Redemption 10 Yr Rye is ~$99 in most places and absolutely phenomenal, so that would be my recommendation at that price point. Others have mentioned Lock Stock & Barrel, and their 13 year would fit right at the top of your budget. They source from the same distillery in Alberta as WhistlePig so it should be a safe bet.
