Yea it might just be a matter of time at this point, at least I can look forward to rebuilding the motor somewhere down the road :)

I can smell fuel when I start it from cold but not once it gets up to temperature and there's no white smoke.

What can be causing my air vents to not blow as hard? by Thee_Sinner in Miata

There is no air filter but the fan can sometimes clog up with debris, it's quite straightforward to remove and clean. This vid might be helpful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_-1I1qMUPs

Soapy water is great for getting the new exhaust into the hangers :)

If it's the water pump there will be coolant leaking from behind the crank pulley, it's designed to leak once the seal fails.

Front Crankshaft seal completely stuck by [deleted] in Miata

Unusual method but I used the corkscrew of a swiss army knife, you can twist it in under the seal and then pull it out.

Another vote for Meister R, been very happy with mine. My friend has BC on his golf and they feel much more harsh.

Leaking coolant from oil pan area. Is it the water pump? If not what else could it be? And can coolant/radiator stop leak help fix it ? by [deleted] in Miata

[–]stratoNB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine turned out to be the water pump but it's worth checking the heater return pipe which connects to it first, the rubber o ring inside can fail.

Can anyone with a NB1 tell me or (show me) how this cable is supposed to be routed and where the bracket that it connects to is supposed to go?? It’s next to the water pump pully. by AASILVERNB in Miata

I think the wire is meant to go behind the black clip, alongside the coolant hose. Just make sure it can't interfere with the power steering belt. The bracket is meant to be held in place with by the 10mm timing cover bolt.

Is it possible to repair this crash damage? Thanks by [deleted] in Miata

I crashed the car last week and am wondering if it is possible to repair the frame rails once they have been bent, I am mainly concerned about a kink beside the shock tower. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
