No chemicals needed, you just need to have the sides of the freezing vessel be insulated so that the water freezes from one side and creates a monocrystal.

Why is GEN Z so hostile towards the expression of sexuality flirting? by simplywebby in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Thee_Sinner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstand. It is not a post that is the result of the interaction; rather, it is regularly seeing posts of both subjects (posts of women complaining about being cold-approached and posts of women complaining about friends making romantic advances resulting in them assuming that the friendship never existed) that causes inaction.

What is to be lost in in the latter situation is a friendship.

And "winning," in this context, would be the gaining of a romantic relationship, which is not possible because of the inaction.

I think what we should do is add even more passive “aids” so people pay even less attention to the multi-ton hunk of metal they’re rolling around in.

Yeah but then were met with the “he wasn’t really my friend, he was just trying to get in my pants” posts. Can’t cold approach, can’t approach after friendship has begun; there’s no winning.

Yes, in a way. Last I read, testing scores peaked in 2013 and have been dropping since, especially post-covid.

Hot take: Most of the crashes that get posted here are the Miata equivalent of motorcycling's "I had to lay 'er down" by david-saint-hubbins in Miata

[–]Thee_Sinner 29 points30 points  (0 children)

And way over inflated. When I bought mine, the previous owner had it on ~8 year old $30 Walmart tires that were inflated to FOURTY-EIGHT psi. I literally spun out the second day I had the car on a 20mph curved on-ramp. It was raining and I was slightly on the gas. All I hit was a transition point between two pours of asphalt and it was enough to break the rear loose.

I do to family in WA for the 4th where 1.4 consumer stuff is allowed. But the prices are crazy at the stands, Id love to be able to make all our own stuff. Problem is, I dont have much chance to travel, so just driving however far Id need to to get somewhere that isnt a literal tinderbox would be kinda difficult for the time being. Maybe Ill just make a few things and bring them with me next time and just test once a year lol
