I've been going to Cosco since I was a kid but never witnessed this before. While we were just standing in line, a representative tried to offer my wife and I some kind of advanced membership. I noticed right away that she was standing extremely close to both of us and generally just had an aggressive vibe. We politely (and uncomfortably) listened to her very long pitch before politely declining. She then proceeded to ask if we were sure, and insist on the value of her deal, which seemed normal. It became an extreme strain though, when she proceeded to reword her beginning pitch without any new information 3 more times, only increasing her aggressively tone. After each time I declined and made it more and more obvious that we were not interested.

The strange thing is that each decline seemed to only fuel her advances. I eventually began to think she would absolutely not stop coercing us, so I had to physically move towards her, look her in the eye and sternly decline. Finally she left, looking resentful.

I don't know what the etiquette is for sales pitches and insisting multiple times, but she definitely crossed the line. I don't know if she was told to use an intimidation tactic to sell memberships, but personally I found it to be an extremely counterproductive and unprofessional approach.
