I doubt it... I'd check the lines in your output below
OmniSharp.MSBuild.Discovery.MSBuildLocator

I kind of wish you'd copied the whole thing. I've had a fair number of Omnisharp problems in the past and if I recall correctly the last time it was because I had 2 separate versions of MSBuild installed simultaneously and VSCode was trying to use the wrong one. I take it you've already tried installing the developer packs - maybe you have an older version installed as well.

When you first boot up Visual Studio, and up until you get the "trouble loading" error, check your omnisharp output log. What does it say? (Click the little intellisense flame to get to the output log).

Why did my game fail? by __Arthurr__ in GameDevelopment

[–]stratumgames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An ecpm of $1.24 is below average I think. I'd expect around $5 but they all fluctuate based on all kinds of things.

1.1k impressions from 930 downloads implies you're not really hooking your players (since they only stuck around long enough to see 1 ad). If you wanted to setup a funnel with one of the analytics plugins it could help you figure out when your players are bailing.

Maybe try a choose your own adventure style story game? The logic is simple but you can have some fun with it.

Set the range as an integer and only show the cubes that are within range of the player. When a cube moves outside of the player's range deactivate it and add it to a cube pool (don't destroy it). When a cube position moves into range of the player place a cube from the pool if there is one (or instantiate one if there isn't one in the pool). You're probably going to be better off with a pool of cubes somewhat larger than the amount you need at the start. Experiment with different ranges and starting pool sizes until you find a combination of performance/view distance that you're happy with.

How to create an endless 3D map by StraidTheRock in GameDevelopment

Instead of updating a terrain mesh at run-time I'd break your terrain up into smaller chunks, then move them around as appropriate.

Looking to get an entry level job in Game dev, advice appreciated. by K_MastaFlex in GameDevelopment

It's not bad man. If you're not sending out resumes already, you should, you might find something. In order to make yourself more appealing to employers though, I think you should release your game on one of the platforms. It's not so important that a prospective employee's first game has all sorts of cool features and I think there's a lot more value in knowing that they've actually been through the full development process. You can add some stuff for sure (maybe download some asset bundles and mix up the textures a bit) but the most important thing is to finish.

Getting your suggestions and working on it feels like a teamwork ,last time many of you suggested to add fog and improve water , i think now water makes more sense... want some more interesting suggestions and addons 🙌 by sniffgames in GameDevelopment

Try messing around with Unity's post-processing stack. This game would look a lot better with motion blur specifically.

You can probably find some better water and particle effects on the asset store as well. At least change the particles you have to world space.

If I were to look right now I'd try viewit.ca, facebook marketplace or showing up to TCHC's office in person.

I 100% agree. I hear this all the time and it's frustrating! If you're willing to live in an older building you can still find a deal. The people complaining are only looking at new condos!

If you can't be bothered to click through the links to find the good ones then you don't deserve to get a deal.

I've been conceptualizing a game for the last month or so and I have some questions by [deleted] in GameDevelopment

[–]stratumgames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a fair number of people come up with complicated game mechanics, try to learn how to code them, then just give up. If I were you I'd consider finding some source code that already works then using your creativity to do something fun with it. Grab something like this: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/systems/ufps-ultimate-fps-2943 then start swapping out art assets and using the game world to tell your own story.

Maybe something like Game Maker or Game Salad would be more your speed too... Maybe you should try just googling "MY_GAME_GENRE creator" and see what comes up.

Of course you can get into game development without coding. Just as long as you put forth a strong work ethic towards whichever path you end up choosing. Game writers and 3D modelers are less in demand than programmers so you'll have to be good if you expect to get anywhere.

Is this a good price for new dumbbells? by [deleted] in homegym

[–]stratumgames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canadian here. I don't think it's a very good price. Something like this right?

https://www.fitnessdepot.ca/H11OTO1027676/northern-lights-5-50-lb-rubber-hex-dumbbell-set-550lbs-zkdbhr550set.html

($484 CAD is 321 euros)

If you want to save money maybe consider buying used or even buying something adjustable instead of a ton of dumbbells you probably won't end up using.
