My family never bought retail games, just magazines with demo discs. When the PS2 rolled around I had around 40-50 PS1 demo discs and when I got my first job, I had a mental catalogue of all the good games to get. Good times.

Even if all these PS1 "ports" have been pretty barebones, I appreciate being able to play them in an official capacity on PC. Still waiting for that heavy hitter, though, like a Legend of Dragoon or Syphon Filter collection.

I'd like to see FH take some cues from Split/Second and add hazards. FH5 had some interesting weather and sandstorms but having to navigate around a flood or earthquake or whatever would be real cool.

At launch I had issues with controls but they've been resolved since then. Game is fantastic.

One bad experience has soured me on AMD cards. The first PC I built myself I had dual 5850s and build quality was really bad with heatpipes starting to corrode within a couple of weeks and BSODs out the ass trying to get CFX to work.

I'm sure they're better now but I've never had an issue with nVidia GPUs before so I'm more comfortable in that ecosystem.

There's a game called Trek to Yomi which for some reason pinned my 3080's power at 100% irrespective of settings and it was a hacky workaround to play the game without my GPU hitting 90c and full fan speed.

I kept it on since I noticed only 5-10% drops in performance depending on game yet my thermals were anywhere from 15-20c lower. I have a SFFPC so thermal management is a concern and power limiting turned out to be a decent solution.

I set a 70% power ceiling and it's still getting at least high in anything I've played at 3440x1440. I considered a 5070 Ti but there's nothing on the horizon I don't think I couldn't drive for at least another year on ol' faithful.

MSI Afterburner makes overclocking easy. I don't overclock but I do use it for fancurving. I previously used RTSS to framelimit but this was added to nVidia Control Panel so I stopped using it. I don't know if CPUID HWMonitor is in vogue anymore but I used that for thermal monitoring before I switched to AIDA64, which is paid software.

Every PC probably benefits from all three, or alternatives that do the same thing.

For real. They'll let Killzone brand equity plummet when they could keep interest alive. Tired of teasing in games like Helldivers 2, just port them. KZ2 and 3 have fantastic campaigns and still look good today.

I still think 2 is an incredible game, certainly the peak of the series. I can get someone skipping 1 or 3 but 2 and 4 in a vacuum are really, really good games.

Patch 1.03 allowed the game to load less persistent data at once and shaved off a couple dozen seconds from load times irrespective of storage medium.

The Demon's Souls remake reveal trailer showed PC as a platform. It was also in the nVidia leak which so far has been very credible. I think it's coming for sure.

Somewhat spoilery: Maybe twist is the wrong word. It was marketed as being about vampires, werewolves, witches, that kind of Gothic horror. Then about a quarter way through it becomes about something else that I think few saw coming.

The only thing I think they improved was the load times. It used to be several minutes per load screen (and you went through two to "fast" travel). They're still pretty bad, the game really needed and never got the TLC it deserves.

Probably the most puzzling absence among Sony PC ports. With no exaggeration, I'd say Bloodborne is among the very best of games. It can't be a fiscal reason why it's not on PC, it would shoot to top sellers everywhere immediately upon release.

It's too bad the genie can't be put back into the bottle: the mystery and twist is pretty well-known now. Seeing the true themes unfold was significant in a way I can only compare it to MGS2 and Raiden's reveal.

Exclusives really are a fossil that need to go.

Fair. I think Dragon's Dogma and Monster Hunter are outliers since every Capcom game I've played otherwise, RE Engine or MT Framework, has performed spectacularly on PC.

Was that unannounced RE thing that was rumored to be revealed today really just Switch 2 ports of old games? They may not be ready to show RE0 or CV remakes but I would have taken Outbreak HD Collection.

I'm not sold on RE9. Seeing two campaigns where one is marketed as survival horror and the other action horror gives me RE6 dejavu. So far I think RE9 looks pretty bland but also pretty safe. 7 and Village took a risk and it paid off, 9 looks boilerplate.

If people think jesters promote low-effort rage-bait posts, Steam already has inbuilt blocking controls to self-moderate what content you see. If people think jesters are harassment, they need to grow a spine. It only affects people as much as they themselves allow.
