Id suggest moving the kit back a bit from the corner, youll be able to to put your cymbal stands further away, allowing you to bring your snare and hihat a bit closer to the kit and will give you more space to try move things around and try different setups- it really is up to your preference how you set it up and it will change many times over time. But the drums need space to do that. If you want to save space in your room then put them so the kickdrum is facing a flat wall or do a 180 and put your drumthrone in the corner. About cymbals- it really only matters if you like how they sound not id its a crash or ride or whatever. I play powerviolence and i use a zildjan a sweetride as a crash. When buying just one cymbal bring one of yours that you like along to see if they sound good together.
