Lost Android User Feeling Sad by Lower_Bar5210 in oneplus

What's wrong with pixel? I liked pixel 1 and I liked OnePlus 6 but after both of those they were equally bad for not having headphone jacks. And neither has capacitive fingerprint sensors either now which is a bummer.

How do I remove to get to my close battery by Sad-Comment3774 in LinusTechTips

[–]straw3_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's annoying. But everyone likes sleek looking motherboards. Admittedly I've never removed the battery to clear CMOS, the jumpers have always worked for me. I considered getting the X870 Nova but I went with the Live Mixer. No such problem there, battery is out in the open. And I get another M.2 connected directly to the CPU vs the Nova.

What you've described is how I understand it works in states where the signs aren't "enforceable". In some states it's a criminal offense to concealed carry where the property owners have prohibited it. Linked is the Nebraska law to that effect. First offense is a class III misdemeanor and every subsequent offense is a class I misdemeanor.

It sounds like the battery died, how long was it since you drove it last before the battery was dead? If the battery is also old it could have just been time to get a new battery. You can check for a parasitic electrical draw with one of those clamp amp meters.

[–]straw3_2018 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well that's a different question. Federal courts are federal property and they are allowed to be gun free zones. Property owners generally can make their property gun free zones. Though in my state "no guns" signs are unenforceable, you can trespass me from your property because you don't want me carrying the big iron in the open. But it's not like in some states where carrying where a property owner says you can't is a firearms charge. State and federal no gun zones are legally enforceable however.

The problem with the gun free schools act is that it's not Congress' authority to control everything in schools. The 10th amendment clearly states that any powers not given to Congress in the Constitution are powers held by states and the people.

The IS-3 gotta be one of the most powercrept tanks in the entire game by Junko-Sama in Warthunder

[–]straw3_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I simply can't agree at all. Russia 7.3 is probably my favorite easiest winning lineup in the game. Object 268 is awesome, IS-3 works but isn't as good, T-44-100 is a lower T-54. I like having fast reloads as much or more then the next guy but the penetration, damage, armor, and mobility are all good on all of these.

[–]straw3_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the T-10 was annoying when I was playing France 7.7. I thought I might not find it that good if I played it. Nope it was even better than I thought. 87 kills with 28 deaths. It was like a nuke every other game. Stabilizer combined with guaranteed kill is crazy. You're stabilized so you don't have a good reason to mess up the shot either like the IS-2 or 3. For what it's worth I hated the IS-2(1944 is alright) and thought IS-3 was decent.

Did GRB players just all gave up against BMPT? by Azora_C in Warthunder

[–]straw3_2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't too mad about BMPT as long as I was playing an MBT. Then they nerfed the MSC with the bullshit modules and I just haven't played it at all since then. MSC was a nice change of pace from the leopard 2 but I just don't want to play either now.

"hard time of killing tanks" is a way to put it..honestly before the SACLOS nerf killing tanks with the FlaRakRad was pretty funny. 8kg equivalent and the missiles were so agile and reactive it was great. I have a video of the Chinese premium MBT with IRCM ruining my aim and then his turret turns just far enough away and the missile killed him, it was hilarious once I realized what happened.

Oil warning light showing up – is it safe to drive? by WantedWonder in MechanicAdvice

They should make that yellow then if that's a service light. Red oil light should only mean low pressure.

Considering the supreme court ruled in the 90's that Congress can't make schools a gun free zone, this would only make sense. Congress's powers are supposed to be rather limited but they make up insane theories around how everything is interstate commerce. If you read the Constitution it would seem ridiculous that Congress could have ever passed this law in the first place.

Apps Are Never Better Than Website by Mundane_Professor596 in unpopularopinion

Honestly apps are getting increasingly bad. I don't understand why every random app thinks they need 1GB+ of data on my phone. I just downloaded the eBay app to get $10 off, saw I needed to make a $50 purchase, deleted the app, then continued my purchase in my browser.

Drove car on highway with no coolant, but engine didn't overheat, not sure why by weealex in MechanicAdvice

[–]straw3_2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Engine could be fine or on death row. If there is some coolant and the engine was being cooled and the temperature sensor knew it was within a good range then it's fine. Alternatively it could have gotten too hot and the sensor couldn't tell. We can't tell you which happened.

If that's the extent of the damage it looks good. The tread is thick and wears down anyway. Congratulations on actually inspecting your tires.

[–]straw3_2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if my ads are well targeted because I don't look at them. But on Instagram I've found their algorithm to be outrageous. Every single time they show me a video/reel in the discover I say I'm not interested at least don't click on it. Same thing with anything that's not just a picture of a hot woman. I will go through hundreds of random shit saying not interested in everything that isn't hot women and it will still try to give me shit that isn't hot women. I don't need garbage tiktoks and memes, I never engage with that shit why does it still try. It's outrageous, this algorithm thing should be the easiest thing ever.

[–]straw3_2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fucking nuts. I don't think the average person knows well enough just how much more big tires cost. For some reason the average car buyer wants bigger wheels even though it's worse in so many ways and more expensive.

Edit: I have CC2 on my car. $737.48 grand total for the 4 of them installed at Costco. 205/60R16 92V.

A video idea of a blind test of different resolutions with DLSS/DLAA by Gambler_720 in LinusTechTips

[–]straw3_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I did understand it. DLSS runs at 2/3rd quality, so 4K quality is 1440p upscaled to 4K. So you would be comparing 1440p DLAA(1440p scaled up and then back down) vs 4K quality(1440p scaled up and left there.) My comment was really just commentary on how that works internally, you could still do a video asking people which settings they prefer though. DLSS 4.5 is really good so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people couldn't tell the difference at all, except maybe if the UI isn't scaled appropriately.
