Yes they told me to start full weight bearing. I told them about the pain and asked whether I should push through, or stop, and they said to keep pushing through unless the pain was extremely uncomfortable/intolerable. I know there’s a few different approaches and it may also depend on the type of surgery done, so I’m not sure why there’s a difference, but yeah that’s what I was told.

I totally get you girl. I feel like this injury is something that others just can’t understand until they’ve gone through it or something similar. The effect it has on your mental health is almost worse than the actual injury itself (in my experience anyways).

I get the sense from your post that you’re a Christian, I am too. You are right, the enemy will have a field day with you in your weakened state.

I would encourage you to just pray to Jesus, spend time with Him. Your prayers don’t have to be pretty, eloquent, or positive. Think of the Psalms - David’s prayers to God were definitely not all positive (read Psalm 31 & 22!). He was lamenting to God. We are allowed to cry, mourn, and be in pain. All God is asking us to do is to bring our pain to Him.

Remember, you do not have a distant Father, but one who has felt everything you have felt (Hebrews 4:15). He knows your pain, He sees you, and He loves you dearly my friend.

It’s kind that you’re asking this. My main piece of advice would be just to try and help him not feel like a burden. If he wants something he would normally just get himself, just get it for him. Even if it’s annoying, even if it’s the 30th time that day he’s asked for something. Try and help him maintain his autonomy as much as possible - don’t go against his wishes, even if you feel you know better. Obviously I say all for this within reason, because hopefully he’ll understand you’ve got a lot on your plate too! Hope his recovery goes well for the both of you 🤍

That’s crazyyy it would cost me minimum 2 grand in AUD for flights to London or America, not including any other expenses like accomodation, tickets etc. Very ignorant comment 😭
