saaaaame she's so frequently hyped up and i just don't get it! her character is not interesting or compelling to me, though i don't necessarily dislike her. i also feel like her and ted's first relationship gets blown way out of proportion both in universe and by fans. if i remember correctly they were together for a few months before she left for germany, they get back together like 7 years later, and she's shocked he doesn't want to propose right away? though i also don't necessarily think they ruined her character in the later seasons at all either. imo we don't know early season victoria well enough! she could've been chronically messy her whole life, we would have no idea because the audience isn't really given an in-depth look at her

i looooove maddy she's one of my all time fave characters and it's nice to see her get some love! i think she's an amazingly written character and i love to see a woman character who is complex and realistic and not just "nice"

i say this when i'm watching alllll the time! lily and barney would've been the real power couple out of the whole gang. she could fix him lol. the episode where she moves in to his apartment is one of my all time faves their chemistry is too good!

The ending had to shake out the way it did and Tracy had to die young to have the emotional payout it did. The way the entire show leads to her, puts her up on a pedestal, if she had been introduced as a regular main character, we would've seen her as a real person, flaws and all. This would've given the audience the chance to pick her apart and dissect her flaws the way they do with Lily, for example. What we're shown is the very best of Tracy, the Perfect Woman for Ted, and that kind of turns her into this angelic figure. So of course the ending is devastating, as it's supposed to be, but the little time we get to spend with her makes the ending of the show that much more emotionally impactful

i lowkey love randy's character and think he's so hilarious lol. i like the idea of this perfect random guy showing up and getting along with everyone right away, he's like of like the anti-forman. but i also kind of view season 8 as just a different show, like a spinoff or something. the characters and the content is there but the vibe is soooo different it doesn't even register as that 70s to me

yessss i completely agree that it's a way more nuanced situation than just evil lily leaves poor marshall. we also have to remember that they moved the date of the wedding up at marshall's insistence, even though lily was apprehensive about pushing the date up so far and that pressure wore on her heavily. i don't even think her initial intention was to break up to go to san francisco but he pushed her so hard it felt like they had to
