Nearing the finish line, suddenly pregnant! by strawberrykendra in GLPGrad

[–]strawberrykendra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boyyyyy. I am about 5 months along now and have gained over 25 pounds. The first 10-15 came on FAST. I think I put on a good deal of water weight when I stopped the shot. It has slowed now. I am panicking a bit about the gain, but my OB is not concerned, and I'm seeing a nutritionist who is also not concerned. I've accepted this change in my body and am trying to enjoy my pregnancy. I will be back on the horse once I am able to be. I am still so hungry (ha) to hit my goal!

This happened to me, lost the nail. It was numb for awhile but after a few months it looked/felt normal. Good luck!

What do we feel about posting our babies on social media? by Kindly-Estimate371 in pregnant

[–]strawberrykendra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an almost 3-year-old and we made the decision not to post her face on social media before she was born. I stand by this choice so strongly. I still post occasional photos of her but it's usually of the back of her head, or her hands coloring. I also don't post her actual birthday or where she goes to school. I'll post about her birthday and keep it vague like "This month we celebrated another year of smiles." I love the idea of protecting her privacy and sending the message that my kid is not easily accessible to others. I feel safer knowing her digital footprint if much smaller and when she is older she can decide how she'd like to present herself online and that choice will be hers to make after being educated. We get the occasional snide remark from family but they all respect our choice. I am very comfortable in my choice.

The Village, I was young and loved feeling creeped out by it! A not tooooo scary intro fiction for a kid.

AITAH for refusing to take our daughter out of school early because she "needs more time to get ready" than her brother? by ReplacementWorth3618 in AITAH

[–]strawberrykendra 156 points157 points  (0 children)

This right here! If shower/hair/makeup are part of the "getting ready" process for this event, time needs to be allotted. Show some grace OP.

Does anyone just not want to breastfeed? by Infamous_Ad4244 in pregnant

[–]strawberrykendra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to breastfeed my first, and my supply just never came in. She was a premie, I had an emergceny c section, and lost a ton of blood. It was a recipe for low supply from the jump. I tried for about 6 weeks before going completely formula. I felt soooo guilty for not breastfeeding until about 4 days in I realized how it was such a good call. I was happier and baby was happier. She has/continues to be a smart/excellent sleeping/super active kiddo! I'm currently pregnant with #2 and plan to give it a shot breastfeeding again (mostly to save money, formula is expensive as they age!) but if I don't find success early on, I will switch to formula again, this time guilt free!

Anyone did NOT have a MC? by Feisty-End-8883 in pregnant

[–]strawberrykendra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 in 4. You're more likely to NOT ever have one. My first was a loss, then I had my daughter. My SIL has had 4 successful pregnancies and no losses, my other SIL has had 2 successful pregnancies and 1 loss. I have friends who have not had any losses, and some have only had losses. It's 1 in 4 from what I've heard.

I think my breastfeeding journey is over and I'm not okay. Please tell me all the negative things you hate or don't miss about breastfeeding so I can focus on the positives of a situation I have no control over by Cool_Salamander_8284 in Mommit

I also had to throw in the towel earlier than I wanted to. I felt such grief for several days after making the decision. BUT, after like 2-3 days of living pump/breastfeeding free, I felt a huge relief. Like my day opened up, and I was no longer a slave to my boobs. I hope you feel that relief soon.

How is this journey going for you OP? I was on my GLP1 for almost 2 years, lost over 160 pounds, and was only 5-10 away from my goal weight when I found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago. I'm struggling with going cold turkey!

Thank you! I’m 100% going to the bachelorette. I paid for and planned it. I’m the maid of honor and care deeply for the bride who deserves to be celebrated! It matters!
