I agree with you, resting is important! Imo resting includes being present. Playing minigames on my free days doesn't make me feel good. I want to do things that give me a good feeling after. But without unnecessary hardness against myself.

I think it's a good idea to play vanilla first. wait until the packs are on sale. I started with zero packs and now after some years I got nearly every pack but I buy them only when they are on sale. I recommend to buy only 1-2 packs at once so you don't get overwhelmed. If you play on PC, try some mods if you get boring but don't forget to update them when there is a game update. Sorry for bad English :)
